Too much light for a 4x2x7 with 5 plants?

I am currently vegging 5 plants in a 4' wide 2' depth 7' tall tent. They are under a CLW 400watt led light.

Now my question is, would throwing another 440w solarstorm in there be too much light for veg or flower? Or should I just throw in the 220w veg master by CLW? Thanks peeps! :)

You should have plenty of veg light with the 400 as it is, so if anything I would get the bloom booster if you're stuck on CLW. 2 solarstorms in a 4x2 would be bangin.. Have you seen the new Area 51 "75"? I used to run my solarflare bloombooster with an SGS and they teamed up pretty well.. If you put a 75 on either side of your CLW you would have a 5 star tent!

Good luck with whatever you do..

Sweet, thought so. Next Question is would adding more veg light than that speed up growth, or would they already be taking all they can with just the 400?

Eh, not stuck on CLW. So far I like them. I just didn't have the time to wait for pre ordered A51. And CLW is a bit cheaper. Plus I don't see many CLW grows at all. Im curious myself to see how they will match up to others. I have seen good results, but not a lot of journals. The uvb is what im mainly interested in, and it's more convenient than buying uvb fixtures separate.

I agree totally!! That would be a mean setup either way with 2 SS or 2 RW75s :) I will have to decide on what to do. I know A51 is supposed to be higher quality, and that it really comes down to umoles and footprint, along with balanced useful spectrum. I hope to experiment side by side someday!

Thank you for the kind words BCP :) Your avatar is dope as hell btw

EDIT: I forgot to mention, ill only be flowering 3 plants, as I will be taking 2 for mothers ;)

Does it work that way ?
Really ?
If you have 'more veg light' (power-wise,I guess ,that you mean) ,plants do 'speed-up' vegetative growth ?
Hm...
They don't just get .."overdone " .."Burned" ...Light Saturated.... 'Exausted " ...?
I thought so ,so far ....

Have a ' quiz for you '

Let us think of Four same baby-youngsters ...plants,I mean ...
Seeds just poped-up ...
Let us say that all four are genetically identical ..

Exact same genome ...

Every one has a different vegging light time regime and power ....

1) First seedling will grow for 3 Weeks (21 days ) under 20/4 (on/off ) power constant light of 100 Watts (light power not electrical,at plug ).
Total energy plant received : 21 days x 20 hours x100 Watts = 42 KhW

2) Second seedling will grow for 4 Weeks (30 days ) under 14/10 (on/off ) power constant light of 100 Watts (light power not electrical,at plug ).
Total energy plant received : 30 days x 14 hours x100 Watts = 42 KhW

3)Third seedling will grow for 3 Weeks (21 days ) under 20/4 (on/off ) power constant light of 200 Watts (light power not electrical,at plug ).
Total energy plant received : 21 days x 20 hours x200 Watts = 84 KhW

4)Fourth seedling will grow for 4 Weeks (30 days ) under 14/10 (on/off ) power constant light of 200 Watts (light power not electrical,at plug ).
Total energy plant received : 30 days x 14 hours x200 Watts = 84 KhW

Theoritically for someone to answer the questions and fill the empty of the following(let us say just them ) :
1) How each of the plants will look like ?
2) Why is that ,in every case ?
3) Which plant is the 'best' vegetative growing state and best possible progression ?
4) Define "best" vegetative growing state .

...It would take a great deal of knowledge in Plant biology ...
In Riu ,possibly ,there are few members who can answer those questions ...

Another way ,is to actually do the test ....
Experiment ....

You'll be amazed ,by the results ...
Every time ...
No matter ,how many times ,you 'll perform the 'experiment' ..

And then becomes routine ...

Try to imagine what happens to each of the four plants ....

P.S:Light Spectrum(and distance) remains same /identical for every seedling.
Choose one light spectrum.Which ever you like or prefer ...
Whatever light source ...Leds,CFH,HPS,MH ,candles ..Whatever ...

Lol very interesting post my friend. I figured it worked that way, since there would be more blue light. But clearly idk. And I also have no idea how the plants would look. I can make some guesses lol I dont have any growing experience, except for a few weeks lol

LOL!

Ok ...
Go easy on power at veg ..
Instead give extra light time ..
Light Duration ...

Happy Growing ...

Lol alright will do brother, I think the 24hr light is def stressing em a bit. They are pretty damn bushy though haha I am switching to 18/6 tomorrow. Thanks for the info! I stumbled upon some of your other posts on uvb haha as I figured, you know this stuff down to a science! Haha Now im starting to feel like 220w solarflare is too much for veg in my 2.5x2 area :0 lol Oh the joys of learning..
