Well I guess it’s time for an update!

Got the girls in 20 gallon fabric pots and made a 1/4 irrigation tube soaker hose for each that are set up on a timer.

They are pretty big for this early in the season. I guess that’s what happens when you start them indoors in March lol.

Purple punch on the left and lemon lava on the right.

Mid-month update: Went out of town for a week and just got home....the girls are getting massive!

So glad to not have any bugs or pests on either plant. I think the consistent Neem oil sprays I've been doing are working great.

I'm a bit concerned about the plants large size....I guess it's a good problem to have, but the trees above them are dropping pollen all over the plants.

I remember this happening last year, but by the time flowering started all of the pollen was gone and it was fine. Anyone ever dealt with this?

The bamboo stakes I have are not nearly tall enough either.

Purple Punch- Nice bushy canopy.

Lemon Lava- Doesn't know which way to grow. Shooting new branches all over the place...can't keep up with pruning!

How much bigger are these things going to get until flower starts??

I use a mister head on the end of a water wand to wash the leaves. Plants love the mist.

Man they just keep growing!!

The Purple Punch (on the left) is such a lovely bushy shape and the Lemon Lava is finally starting to bush out as well. Calyx's are starting to swell up and the smell is getting quite strong.

Virtually no pests on either plant but I'm pretty sure I have a large population of Springtails in my soil. From what I'm reading, I'm not too concerned as it sounds like they are indicative of a healthy soil composition and really only eat on fungus or decomposing plant material as opposed to roots.

The plants don't seem to mind either :)

Flowering has definitely started! The girls are going strong, today is about 100 degrees so I gave them some extra water today.

How long into flower until you guys start feeding CalMag?

Flowering is coming along nicely. The girls seem to be dealing with this wildfire smoke and ash pretty well luckily. Lots of frosty leaves popping out.

Definitely starting to get a lot of yellowing fan leaves though....is it time to start adding CalMag to my nutrients??

Quick update as we are flowering big time now. The Lemon Lava fan leaves are turning this strange color...is this a deficiency of some kind??

Quick update here. I think the Purple Punch has only a week or 2 to go. 75% of pistils have receded and turned brown. Trichomes are all pretty opaque/milky with some amber ones starting to pop up. So stoked with how this girl is looking! Super pungent dark berry smell to it. No matter how hard I try this strain always wants to yellow out on me in the last few weeks. I'm fine with it :)

Below is the Lemon Lava. Trichomes are still pretty glassy so I think this one could go another 3-4 weeks and these buds are getting chunky for sure. First time growing this strain and it looks like I should get a solid yield off of it. This one's turning a bit purple as well, must be the cooler temps we've been having in the Bay Area lately. Fall is upon us!

So I think the Purple Punch is getting chopped this Sunday. Super milky trichomes with some ambers sprinkled in there.

Going to wait one more week on the Lemon Lava. Trichomes still seem pretty glassy to me.....what do you guys think??
