Too bushy... I don't know what's going on!!!

Mine did the exact thing. Your plant looks to be very indica, as is mine. Mine did not stretch nearly as much as I had hoped/expected...for whatever that's worth.
Mate. I was thinking it looked Indica too.. apparently it's 90/10 sativa... I have an overly powerful light so I don't think it feels like it needs to go anywhere... Also it was a seed start and I burried the rockwool low and topped on the 4th then pulled it down low.. you got a pic? I can't honestly understand what I'm even looking at when I pull the leaves to the side it just opens up another layer of dense leaf... Haha.. I can't really complain it grows noticeably bigger every day!

simple answer if you want a bushy plant keep light around 22 inches if you want it lanky keep light about 30 inches
i prefer lanky plants i find plants grow slower if lights closer then 18 inches
too much nitrogen can also slow a plants growth clearly your on the high on of nitrogen having them shiny and dark green leaves and not enough cal mag or just bad ph showing as red stems but sometimes that's strain related
id cut your feed strength by 10% and lift lights up a to 30 inch or at lease 25 inch

Ignore all the aggression that you get here lol, it just seems to come with the territory. Some people just like been dickheads for no reason lol.

Do you guys prefer bushy plants ? I hate them. I probably grow around a similar size to yours but more of them and I hate bushy plants specially when it comes to trimming so I left the little a little further away :(.

If you don't have any height size restrictions just let it grow as big as it wants. there's no point having half the leaves covered by the other half of the leaves.

For me, this was the opportunity to try a bunch of things I've never done before. I set out to grow one plant as large as I could. First time ever growing a plant large. First time ever using DWC/RDWC. First time experimenting with LED's. I had no idea what I was getting myself into...lol

Shot Kipin, always good advice.. my mix is strong in Nitrogen I thought the other fella was full of yarns on that one... I'll try lower that a touch.. calmag.. well I have a horrible confession, so far I haven't supplimented that but I have a bottle of fairform CMX on the way.. should be here tomorrow. I live in an alpine environment and the water comes out of the tap at 10ppm.. it's incredibly clean so I'm sure there's a problem that I need to remedy asap!

How do you find DWC/RDCW compared to traditional dirt grow? I get you also have LED lighting vers maybe HPS etc which can made that harder to pinpoint, just curious how much faster things grow that method, say 30% faster as a guess?

A lot faster. Can't really put an exact % to it...but it's significant.

I'm probably a lot more dense than others but I've had an incredibly difficult time getting to harvest with rdwc, only 2 out of 4 harvests. I know not everyone does but just a warning that there are two sides to this coin. I would try coco first because the cost will be low but the learning high. I find it more forgiving than dwc but more beneficial than soil.

My two cents but remember it's not always sunshine!

Ok..I wanted to update, just for interest sake and it's nice seeing the progress in chronological order on a thread... Also looking for feedback of course. I have thinned out the lower section making a tray of clones for the next round. I'm 2 weeks out from flicking so thought now was a good amount of time to let her heal and take shape. I won't be doing anything else... I think that maybe even 2 weeks will be too long... For the space I have anyway. 20181202_200807.jpg 20181202_200840.jpg

She's coming along nicely man ! always good to experiment and learn new things your topping and lst is a lot nicer and more uniform then mine, I gave up caring about making nice looking plants when I realized they don't necessarily mean more harvest.

Good to know.. I probably will stop caring as much sooner or later too.. I guess the fact it was from seed helps with symmetry. The next batch will be a couple of clones in the same space. It was hard enough getting inside this one so I am sure the next 2 will be scraggly beasts.

On that note if you don't mind me asking another question in this thread :)

Does anyone know What gets better quality buds... Not bigger quantity I'm chasing better quality as the quantity suits me ok. Because my veg room is tiny like 1 x 1 meter. Should I just grow one plant and try get it as big as possible or better off with 2 smaller plants ? Or does the amount of plants have no effect at all on Quality . 1 large plant puts out just as good buds as 5 smaller plants..

It's purely cosmetic, its great weed, high THC but just the buds aren't big and fluffy like all those great bud photos people put up.. theres TONS of trichoms and it knocks you off your socks but it just looks like crap :(

I have a similar size room. As I mentioned there will be 2x 20 litre containers in my next attempt however they will be completely independent of each other, meaning no connection between tanks to share nutes. I know that my light is sufficient for even 4x plants so I expect everything I grow to be of the same quality.
To answer your question to the best of my knowledge. No, I don't believe your quality will suffer however you may find less quantity on each plant as they compete for space. Keep a close eye on your nute levels and let us know how it goes.

yeah I think thats what might be happening, I've got too many pants in there and they are just competing for space so never focus on growing fluffy nugs. next clones I'll just do 2 and see what happens :)

would it make any difference to the physical appearance ? I thought Scrog was to get maximum yield out of a single plant, for me personally 4 small plants I don't have to look after as much as 1 perfectly manicured gigantasore plant sounds like the more lazy option haha.

Caught this little fella having a sniff of the plant last night as well

This one is just about done probably should have been cut a few days ago. like they are nice buds, but they are just so flimsy and poo. I'm just wondering as it looks like the plants at the end of its life, if I leave it another week or 2 the buds might fill out, or the trichoms might just go bad.. Don't know what to do if to cut it or leave it and see.

Stems look thick and healthy, leaves are in exceptional quality for the stage of life. Begs the question, how much trimming do you do (lollipopping) / how dramatically do you change the nutes into flower? Looks to me like there's still a lot of nitrogen and perhaps that is why you see less going into the flowers? If that is due for harvest or even a late harvest then we should notice a lot more loss of life to the fan leaves..
