To tent or not to tent

I was originally thinking of growing in a spare bathtub but I might elect to purchase a 48x48x78 growing tent instead. What would you guys do? Tent or no?

That tent can fit more plants than a bathtub, so i'd say tent.

Even though, with the price of tents, i'd probably just DIY one with some wood and plastic sheeting.

I'd go either tent or closet.... DI|Y tent, what ever, but i aint sacrificin my shower for some plants thats for sure. If u could use the shower then can u use the whole bathroom? I mean, if u aint usin the bathroom for whatever why not just convert it into a grow space?... With a good lock on the door of corse:bigjoint:

Well I have a cat and her litter box is in that spare bathroom I would use. The only prob is she eats plants like a mofo. I could move her litter box and convert the entire bathroom into a grow area i suppose, but that bathroom is facing the parking lot in my complex. I might just drop the $120 for the tent and shipping since I really suck at building shit.

Haha Cats are evil like that. Do you think one 1000 w mh and a 1000w hps will do?

the tent is a great way to start growing. it has built in ducting for airflow. it is completely blacked out.

I would says save up and buy a tent, or devote a cabinet or closet to growing.

I'm a tent grower myself, so of course I recommend going that route. I enjoy DIY projects, but the tents really do not cost that much more than raw materials plus you have the added benefit of portability. I would suggest reading the various reviews as not all tents are created equal. I'm using a DR80 and there is some light leakage around the zipper (yes, the inside flap is in place as it should be) but not bad enough to allow light in during the dark period. A lot of the manufacturers produce a "light" line which is basically the same tent made from cheaper materials-avoid these lightweight versions as light pours in and out quite easily so even at half the cost of the heavier versions they are a total waste of money. About to set up a couple of Home Box tents, love that heavy canvas that they are now using.

Thanks a lot, I looked at both the dr80 and the home box tents, are you familiar with bud box tents?
