To prune or not to prune?

this is how i cut mine when i prune..this is bubba kush on day 14 of 12/12..just made all my final cuts yesterday..i wont make any more cuts now..not until im cutting that bitch down for harvest :weed:
I guess I probably should start flowering soon mine are around that size. I ended up trimming just a couple stems/leafs touching the soil although this weekend Im going to take Im hoping around 3 clones off each. Someone told me to do that instead of making one a mother plant seems to make sense now I gotta figure that one out. So much to learn. :leaf:

IMHO: Used appropriately, Pruning and Trimming are both great tools for maximizing bud sites, flower size, and light penetration especially when growing in tight spaces. It also helps maintain overall plant health and vigor through every phase of growth. (with the exception of seedlings... obviously)

But I also think these practices should be used subjectively. I mean, if you're growing 1 foot tall plants in a stealth PC setup using CFLs then yea, every fan leaf might be more useful staying on your plant. But if you're growing a 5 foot tall heavily trained plant under HIDs, then removing some fan leaves from a branch may pay off if it means a once hidden bud site will now be getting direct light. And to be even more specific to my experience, growing a SCROG with a very dense canopy in very tight quarters, the payoff is a no brainer when comparing a bud site that's hidden by large fan leaves that can't be tucked under anything... vs. removing those fan leaves and getting direct light to that top.

I'd like to add that I once was a vehement advocate for never trimming healthy fan leaves, but have since changed my tune. Experience is the determining factor here, you've either seen the benefits yourself, or you haven't, period.

exactly..gotta have a healthy plant and good lighting to make cuts..my plants are blowing up now that i just cut 1/3 of them off the bottom

well like you said experience is everything so I will try it with one and leave the others although to be honest ill be happy to get anything. The seed company claims my plant will get 2-4 ounces each in a 2 gallon and I got them in a 3 gallon so im hoping for the best but ill settle for anything.
