I have the Amazon item you guys are talking about............it's not really what you want. It's fine for taking pic's, either wide angle or closeups- or both- but it's not really applicable for closeups such as looking at trichomes. This may be better for want you want:

I got a little App on my android phone called Flash to Torch that has a good enough magnifier in it to see trichs and take pics of them. Kinda lame but easier than using my wifi equipped USB scope. Need the f'n tripod with that thing to check the growing plants.

I didnt believe it at first but dang that app works like a charm.
You made my life so much easier.
Thank you good sir. You just saved me 20 bucks.

I do recommend that app, its free and simple to use try it out for yourself if your tired of handling usb microscopes and such.

Great. I last used it out in Hope BC to check out these tiny rubies my grandsons had panned out of Ruby Creek just a bit north by Yale. Got some bigger ones on previous trips too.

I think the paid version has better optics but not sure. I have an old Radio Shack 30X scope that works good enough too. Cost like $12 19 years ago.

Glad it helped!
