TIPS ON PURGE

Ok, so I got a new pump and chamber and assumed I could just go directly into the chamber with the oil without letting it set out overnight or even an hour. I have been trying to vacuum purge for four days now at temperatures between 85-115 degrees and it's still solid bubbles. It is a very thin layer on a silicone pad, inside the chamber; at least an oz of final product too so this is an emergency!!! Lol.
Is it too late to fix?? Another problem I'm having is that my pumps will not go any deeper than -22.5 hg, or is that a problem??? It is a five gallon chamber and a single stage/3CFM vacuum pump; I also tried my two stage/3CFM pump and it wouldn't get lower than -20 hg...
Thanks for any experienced advice.

How big is your chamber mang?

Oz O oil in a small chamber, won't work...

How thick is the slab?
Your elevation?
Sea level?

Subtract approximately 1” of Mercury for every thousand feet of elevation.

I'm in Co.Springs my gauge pegs at 22.5

Try taking at least half the oil out and set it aside...

Make the oil in the chamber as thin as possible..

While the oil is molten (soft), lay a sheet of parchment paper over the slab, and sandwich.
Now, grab a riling pin and flatten the slab, making the oil very thin.
You may have to stick the it in the freezer for a moment to remove the parchment...

Try again like that.

Five gallon chamber... 7200 ft above sea level. 22.5 is the deepest it will go. I finally got it right and my freakin pump completely filled my chamber with oil. MOTOR OIL!!!
I'm furious right now. How could the pump push motor oil into the chamber??? So that I never do that shit again, ya dig?

And yes, I spread it thin across the entire silicone pad on the first run. After four days of a vacuum purge, still getting bubbles and tasting butane. Wtf am I missin?? I've made dozens of good batches in AZ but since I moved to CO I can't get it right.

You need to have an isolation ball valve between the vac and the port....

Negative pressure inside the chamber, will draw pump oil into your chamber.

Damn bro....
Sorry to say, but that batch is ruined.

3$ ball valve...

Also the chamber should be elevated higher than the pump. Put the pump on the floor and elevate the chamber.

Before you turn the pump off, close the valve. Leave it closed before turning the pump back on also.

It happened due to the physical properties of gravity...hence the valve.

I'm sorry to hear this, my heart just broke for you mang...

Ok, last question, I hope. Is it ever too late to put a batch back into a purge. The first batch, which is now on day 5, is a solid, almos waxxy substance and is almost a full zip.

So, Now that I have the right temperature on my stove and figured out the pressure on that chart, can I put the big batch back under the purge and get it fully clean? It still bubbles and tasted like butane. Please tell me it's not a waste.

Yo, my man. I wasn't able to get my temp high enough without an electric skillet and now I have a semi-hard wax that still has butane in it. Could I possibly put it in the extractor and rerun it??

If not, is there anything that can be done to fix a large batch of wax that wasn't purged properly??

No problem my friend.
He breaks it down really well, and his suggestions and techniques usually will get the consistency you desire.

Keep in mind different strains and the age and quality of the starting material plays the biggest role.

So his specific” recipes” per se, may need some tweaking.

It comes with practice and repetition...

Does anyone know how to break down the process, step by step, of winterizing for the purpose of getting 100% of the butane out??? I have a batch that isn't clean enough for consumption and it's over an OZ that I need to clean. At 7200ft elevation and its still fairly cool here. IF that matters.
BLESS
