Tips of pistles brown

Hey everyone my name is Jason I just joined the site. This is my first grow and i am a little over 3 weeks into flowering and i am seeing some nice buds starting to form. Anyways the tops of the pistles (little white hairs) some of them are brown / burnt? Anyone might be able to help me out is this normal? This is kind of an experiment and i have limited space so i wanted to keep this small ive been using 3 23watt CFL 1600 lumens ea. and 96Watt power compac fixture on the back side. The CFL's are all about 3-4 inches from the side branches pointing in at the center stem. My top light for the cola is about 4 inches from the top. Thanks

this change in colouration is a normal sign of the aging of the bud, check out this thread by good old video:

tell me a bit more about our grow, its set up, the strain you grown buddy how long did you veg it, do you control the pH, what nutes do you use, and what grow medium.

maybe the others and me can give you a few hinds with our grow

its a very small plant maybe 13 inches total height. used miracle grow soil and shultz 10-15-10 nutes. I veged for about 6 weeks and it is a white widow / Bubble gum strain i believe pulled out the seed from some killer smoke. i have an oscelating fan and an exhaust fan and the temp on the soil is roughly 74 degrees F. Quick question, if i were to put my temp prong right above the cola, about how hot should it be?/?

id say no greater than 90 degrees farenheit at any contact point on the plant.

temp shoul be between 70 and 85. if your hairs are browning but your leaves look good then you are fine. sounds like you are doing great.

Cool ill get some pics up soon, its kinda funny how short this thing is. Pretty sure it will yield some good buds but quantity i might have to see what you all think. Anyways i dont think im doin too bad for my first, everything is green and a lot of crystal development. How much bigger would you say the buds should get from week 3 to week 8 or 9?
