About 4 years ago I started to notice tiny undeveloped seeds in some batches of hydro. I put it down to a partial hermaphrodite pollination and thought nothing of it. Then it started to happy with most of the weed. I tried different dealers and different strains but they all had the tiny undeveloped pips in them. I've personally grown dozens of different strains from various reputable breeders and they always have these tiny poppy seed sized pips in them. No matter how long you let the plants grow they don't ever develop into proper seeds. They don't even get to the size of sesame seeds! They're hardly noticeable once the weed's dry, as they're so small that they just break up in the grinder. I don't use a grinder so I noticed it instantly. All the grower-dealers I've asked about this pretend that they don't know what I'm talking about, because it would be bad for business. So long as people buy their weed they don't care about the little pips. Well I care!!! It makes the weed weak and ruins the taste. The smoke burns my nostrils as I exhale. Unfortunately people are just accepting it or they don't even seem to notice.
I bought new LEDs and better fans and I only use advanced nutrients, which is an award winning line of nutrient solutions. I use bio bizz compost which is specially designed and developed by Dutch breeders for cannabis cultivation. I've got no light leakage in my tent etc etc.
I'm using 2 mars hydro ts600's which are 85 - 95 watts with a lumin equivalent of 600 watts each. They're supposed to be good quality lights and come highly recommend.
It's got to the point where I'm out of ideas as to what could be the cause.
I've grown plants outside on my balcony and this problem doesn't occur. So it can't be the genetics or anything like that. It has to be the setup. The only thing I know has changed across the board in the world of cultivation is the lights. Everybody is now using LEDs. Not just a few people, but literally everybody! I think it's something to do with the light spectrum, but that's just a guess. I don't know whether to try using a more expensive LED or whether halogen or CFL lighting would be a better idea. All of the big growers recommend LEDs so I'm totally confused right now.
Has anybody experienced this phenomenon and could anybody offer any help or advice.
Thanks
