Tiny bugs in soil, ID help please?

This is my first grow and the ladies are coming up on chop chop time.. But I seem to have made a lot of little friends (or enemies, I'm not sure). They seem to only be in the soil and on the bottom of the tent.. I dusted with diatomaceous earth at one point and they seemed to disappear for a while but I opened the tent tonight and found them all over the top soil and pot of one plant, there seem to be some in each pot but there's quite a collective in one of the pots.

They're really small, some seem to be grey/beige, some blue. Hard to really tell what color they are since they're so small. I can see them without any magnification but I had to grab a jeweler's loupe to be able to tell how many legs they had. They've got antennae and 6 legs. They seem to "jump", more than once I had one in my sights for a picture and it just sort of disappeared - I assume they jumped. They don't seem to be actually going anywhere near the plants/buds/leaves, they're all in/around the soil or underneath the pots (which, might I add are still sitting on a layer of diatomaceous earth). Don't seem to have wings of any sort.. Like I said, I've yet to see on anywhere on a plant. No signs of white/silver specks on any leaves. Really, they don't seem to be touching the plants at all (the roots, though, they very well could be eating away at).

I tried as best as I could to get a picture but between how quick they are and how hard it is to hold a phone, a 10x jeweler's loupe and focus on one of these buggers I barely managed to get these 3 (shoddy) pictures (the first (and best) picture was taken with the HPS light still on sadly):
(sorry, cell phone pictures)

Anyways, I've been trying to figure out what they are for the last couple hours (well, that and trying to get pictures of them) but I've got to get up for work in like.. 7 hours.. So I'll check back tomorrow morning and hope that someone can help me figure it out.

I've narrowed it down to either being thrips (bad) or springtails? (not so bad?) but I'm really not sure.. Worst case, I'll chop them down early and nuke the tent with all varieties of nasty chemical insecticides and just go Hiroshima on their asses but I would like to avoid that as at least 3 of the 5 ladies are still fairly far away from chop chop time..

Thanks for your time.

springtails..as to what harm they do or how to kill em I don't know. Azamax says it will get em.

Thanks for the confirmation, guys. From what I understand they don't seem to pose an immediate threat so I'll let them stay until this crop finishes and just go berserk on the tent with bleach and insecticides afterwards.
