tincture: how long do the effects last?

I seem to be full of questions today. I'm making tincture for the first time. I've used edibles; made cannabutter & know that it takes about 30 -45 minutes to notice the effects, and they last for 1 1/2 -2 hours or so.

But, I've read conflicting information about tinctures. One said it lasted only about 30 minutes, and another said 1 1/2 hours, and another said something else.

Before I try another dose (yep, dose...it's medicine for me...for pain & nausea), I would like to get an estimate.

thanks again!

ok, now that makes sense since I've found so many different things. Edibles seem to have a certain time frame, but.... I'll test it to see :).

If you take a dose of edibles and dont feel the effects within 30min raise your blood sugar lvls. If you overdose, eat carbs to mellow you out.
Foods that can intensify your edible high: chocolate, mangos

@Diabolical666, (late answer --sorry- been ill & busy..).. anyway, I'm pre-diabetic, so raising my blood sugar isn't something I want to do ;). That's one reason I started making tincture instead of cannabutter...well, it didn't hurt my blood sugar, but didn't help the cholesterol! ...jeez, getting old stinks!!
I heard that tincture wasn't the same as edibles; meaning you didn't get the same effect consuming too much/or overdosing. Do you know if that's true, or is tincture the same as edibles in that regard?
Also, pistachios and pine nuts are good if you overdose, too.
thanks for your reply.
