Weds. 1/25 is the 7 week marker and I was wondering if I should start the flushing process? It is an AK-47 in a DWC system. Over the last week most of the hairs have started to turn red and the buds are finally starting to swell.
Time to Flush???

They look great good job! The only thing I see is a slight MG deficiancy in pic 2. Have you scoped the trichomes? A lot of people don't flush at all. Personally I have done both flushing and not, I don't see much difference. I prefer to just give them a very good last watering and cut when they start to droop.

Please flash and chop (would take you to week 8 1/2). Your plat has the feed it needs and and more flower will change the HIGH to a stoner feel.
Your tichs from what i can see have retracted.
If your looking for a best smoke then flush . if your going to pass on chop. Next time use more light try scrog (see my post) to maximize your yield.

Trichs don't retract. Pistils retract into calyxes.
Looks pretty good I'd give it a three week stamp, but I don't know anything 'bout DWC except for a couple swamp/pond grows.
Can you admit you're just repeating stuff you read on the internet with no real experiences on the matter?why are you so intent on starving your plants in their most vital stage?

I use pure water to flush the last seven to ten days. I also have tried it both ways (lots of times), a flushed crop gave a better taste. Back when I grew in organic soil, flushing never improved the taste, so it was not done.
The debate should be more about a preference and less personal. I had a guy here talk about my mother, challenge my ability to grow weed, criticized my spelling (easy to do) and question my educational background because of my preference to flush. Sounds silly huh?
This should be a chill spot to talk about growing weed among other folks who share this cool hobby.
If not flushing gives you good results, then do what works best for you.

You seem to be missing a very basic point...organics contain the same chemicals as "chemical" nutrients, your assertion about organic soils and taste is based purely on forum/organic bullshit talk, not real science.

I'm pretty sure organics is the process of feeding and improving the beneficial bacteria in the soil so they feed your plant. Hydroponic ferts feed the plant directly.
