TIMBER GROW LIGHTS LOWERED PRICING

Hi RIU,

In an effort to move to a simpler pricing model, we have eliminated the RIU code and permanently lowered pricing on our most popular Vero fixtures.

When you visit our website, you will see we have lowered the prices on our 2VL, 3VL, 4VL, 4VS and Redwood VS fixtures by roughly 10% on average.

We appreciate your continued support - if there are any questions, we are happy to assist.

Take care,
Dan

Another 25% and you'll become a viable option.. great product but the price makes it pretty unattractive when theres options that are so much cheaper for pretty much the same thing with minimal added effort...

DIY has gotta be hard on sales for them.... if you know how to build a light. You can build their biggest light for a fraction of the price. Super nice lights. And they stand behind their warranty and product. But it's hard to pay someone else for their time. When essentially your own time is free to build one. But I'd say they sell enough to stay open. And are hopefully staying outta the red. Small businesses are what's needed to make America great again. Not some crazy bitch prez or some rich pussy grabbing mother fukr. We need businesses like timber, hlg, and whatnot to be successful. It helps the economy.

Your right, however I believe that's since they order the componates in bulk and such they really should charge less. I truly believe they could easily charge 25% less than current, aka 35% of former pricing and make enough for everyone to be paid well. Especially when they increase sale dramatically. Nobody wants to pay 1k for a light they can build for 500. But they may be willing to pay 650 for it. Especially when it costs timber 1/2 or less what we pay for parts due to bulk pricing.

I don't see a reason to whine. If someone can build the light cheaper, more power to them, If someone wants to buy a light and is willing to pay that price, more power to them. Also imagine them having to deal with warranty returns and customers that are dumb. Anytime you do business in retail there is a percentage of loss. A home builder doesn't have to contend with that.

If their business model is sustainable they will do well, it seems as their price point is dropping so perhaps they realize there is a discrepancy between what a product is worth and what they charge.

Personally I think LED lights are too costly for what they do and it will be 3 to 5 years before one can get a true 1kW DE HPS replacement for say $400 bucks and it only uses say 500 watts or less. Until then it's a DIY heaven, but that doesn't work for commercial because they need UL listed fixtures and lots of them.

The margins aren't as much as you think timber isn't getting rich any time soon

Most legal states give incentives for going led so as a big operation you can save a couple hundred per fixture or get cheaper power depending where you are also the cost of bulbs and labor saved on changing bulbs is a savings led aren't really that expensive now 1-2 years ago I would agree with you. But now with recreational weed led pays for itself really fast in a greenhouse hps might still be king but indoor you can't beat led

My 660w diy will eat 1khps every single time. So I'm not sure why you think leds wont replace 1khps yet. Theres plenty of grows on here other forums of leds rockn hps by far.

I didnt say they can't compete performance wise, it's the cost that has yet to come down. When someone can buy a UL Listed IP68 fixture for a price thats closer to a DE HPS... Say 600 bucks for a LED that replaces a 1kW DE HPS. It's about price point for initial investment. Watch how fast HPS becomes obsolete when that price point is hit.
