You do by voting in the Senators and Representatives. You are every bit as complicit in this charade as I am. However, I sent my son into the military and I have an only child to lose. What do you have to lose?
Newsflash ... I DIDN'T vote for the assholes that don't represent me ... so can the complicit shit ... you may be ... but I'm certainly not ... I was against BOTH invasion... so that blows your theory ... what do I have to lose ... my country.

deny all you wish, the blame lies with all of us. even those of us who seem to be considered only marginal citizens, who refuse to participate in the political charade and exist on the fringes of society, are allowed some small influence in the community and derive a benefit from it. even those who defy the authority are culpable, in that their actions and voices have not been strident enough to make a significant change. that is a part of the definition of our society.
I don't have any blame in any of this bullshit ... I wrote my worthless reps and called them the war criminals they are ... I was against both wars ... and when 911 happen I suspected high levels in government were involved ... especially when they invaded sovereign nations ... so pick all you want to evade the real issue ... Russet was a corporate whore ... whose show was a springboard for the lies leading to an illegal occupation ...who wouldn't know journalism if it bit him on his ass ... :-|

the lady doth protest too much, methinks.

with conspiracy theory and righteous rage running 'round in her addled pate, our rebel without a clue denies her part in the sins of the society of which she is a member. you didn't do enough to halt the carnage, so take your place in line with the rest of the war criminals.:lol::lol:

:spew:No ... it is you that is clueless ... you have yet to show where I am to blame other than your guess as to my thoughts ... well you guessed wrong ... again ... if you want to accept blame for disregarding the true get started ... I know misery loves company ... but sorry ... I can't join you ... I was against this from the start ... I have no blame in this ... deal with it ... :hump:

How so? I'm against our occupation ALL OVER THE WORLD yet I know that I am part of the problem. How is it that you feelyou can separate yourself from your country?

I've said it here before on this site that I mourn the loss of my country, but I also have an only child overseas that might one day die because of what you and I have done and/or have allowed to happen. How can you say that you're not culpable?

Shakespeare! Hamlet even! A correct quote within context. I think I'm in love.:joint:

It's much more morally satisfying to accuse blindly. Hell, haven't you heard? We conservatives are responsible for everything from climate change to itchy underwear. We are wrong - no argument. No debate. We support the Illegitimate Bush Regime! Never mind if we actually support Bush or not. GR does not let genuine facts impair her world view.

facts are fleeting images, twisted this way and that by the whims of those who perceive them. the fanatic fervently believes that which suits his views. the reasonable man suspects everyone is lying to him, but bears no grudge. those of us under the ice are just really, really stoned.:eyesmoke:

True. I used the word 'facts' because GR draws that word like a gun and expects us to cower in fear.

So you didn't vote?

What I have realized is that no matter how noble president or potential presidents talk of promisises, they are willing to compromise for political gain, JFK included sadly.

Very sadly becaue I bought a Time Life vinyl of his presidential speeches. After learning about the guatemalan coup I lost tons of respect forn him though that obviously wasnt the reason he was murdered by the CIA.

Politics, and politicians, are governed either by principle, or by polls, ( the people, us, regardless of ignorance on the topic). We are now firmly ensconced in the era of the poll.:spew:

politics is agenda driven, politicians are driven by the need to attain power. principle is the name given to agenda to make it seem more altruistic. polls, the bastard stepchildren of the ballot box, are just the tools used to convince us that someone is actually listening.

this is the era of the great lie. we are given skewed statistics and the results of studies sponsored by paid experts to show us why we are wrong. we are fed half-truths and spectacle to keep us amused. our fears are amplified and played upon to keep us distracted. the information age has given way to the misinformation age, soon to become the disinformation age.

The era of the big three networks ended with the emergence of 24-hour news outlets. It did not end the systematic mind control achieved from spoon feeding pablum called news into our gaping maws. Rather, the new news outlets, relied on sensationalism to grab and hold viewers.

The internet era changed everything. True, there's more bullshit. But the internet made dissent legitimate and the bloggers found themselves seated at the table at a party they crashed.

The internet has allowed us to judge for ourselves what is newsworthy.

Look what the internet has done for the cannabis movement. Suddenly we discovered the ability to communicate with each other worldwide. I can see decriminalization becoming a reality in my lifetime.

I seriously doubt de-criminalization will happen before my short life expires. It seems rather incredible that the government would make a plant illegal, craszy hay the farmers used to call it. It has been politicized way too much and the Stigma of "illegal drug" has been force fed the public for 70 years. The few thousand/million that come to these pro cannibis sites do not make a majority.
I have no opinion either way since I don't smoke, I have smoked for years. The excitement of the illegality of it made it more of a thing than the actual high, One always thought they were getting away with something, getting over on the government, How dare they tell us what we can and not put in our body.
Now that I have endured sobriety for close to 20 years, I actually enjoy not being high and wonder if being high is the answer. You who worship cannibis may be worshiping false Idols, I know not. I did enjoy the first 30 years of pot smoking and don't condemn anyone for smoking it, I'm just not sure being stoned all the time is the answer.

Perhaps. My point is that a sea-change in U.S. drug policy will have a groundbreaking impact on our economy, culture, penal system, law enforcement, civil liberties, foreign affairs, agriculture, etc. I believe cannabis has the power to make us a more tolerant, forgiving and open-minded society.

Ronald Reagan had an "agenda"..........

And "we" don't have to partake in this consumption. Focus your oil induced energy (free time) on something other than TV, newspapers (AssociatedPress?, hey at least they're honest, uh, about the "Associated" part, that is),etc., and things really are looking up.......is anybody listening?...........

3 suggestions......Limbaugh, Lewis, and Levin, speaking of listening.

We should all do our part.....clandestinely smoking in public, to get the smell out there. Telling others we know we smoke and enjoy it, especially if we're successful. etc. Although, we might have a powerful ally coming to our defense. This public ban on tobacco is really pissing people off, and, by virtue of their anger, many are seeing the light. "Who the fuck is government anyway?" "What gives them the right?"..............me and you, my friend, me and you..........

Oh, yeah. I've long held that as tobacco becomes more prohibited, cannabis would become less prohibited. Eventually a balance will be struck.
