Tilray won't be pursuing the Recreational market?!?!

Ok,

Anyone want to call bullshit on this with me?

If an LP thinks they can convince anyone they are there for the patients, and not profits, they are sadly mistaken. Let's see the tune change in the coming months. What a fucking joke.

An Update on the Allard Verdict

Dear ,
On Wednesday, a Federal Court in Vancouver rendered a decision in what is commonly known as the Allard case that recognized the rights of Canadian medical cannabis patients to produce their own cannabis. While it’s still too early to know how the federal government plans to respond to this court decision, we wanted to let you know that meeting needs of our patients continues to be the driving force and focus for all of us at Tilray.

We will continue to produce the widest selection of high-quality, lab-tested medical cannabis products, including flower and extracts, as our patients have come to expect. Additionally, with recreational legalization on the horizon, we want to assure you, our valued patient, that Tilray remains firmly committed to the medical market, to furthering the science of cannabis, and to providing the best service, benefit programs, selection and supply in Canada.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be widening our selection of extracts with the addition of capsules and topical oils, and we’ll continue to innovate and expand our strain selection and product line-up in the months ahead. We know you have many options for your medical cannabis and extracts needs, and we’d like to thank you for continuing to choose Tilray.

If you have any questions about the Allard decision, Tilray’s new extract products, or anything else regarding your medical cannabis needs, please don’t hesitate to call us toll free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at: 1-844-TILRAY 1 (845-7291)

Thank you and best regards,

Philippe Lucas

Once again I have to point out the incredible hypocrisy of Philippe. He should be ashamed at the bullshit he's peddling after being involved with compassion clubs for so long.

And you guys are completely correct in that whole statement is bullshit as well. Privateer is salivating over the prospects of rec, they'll start a new child company and try and maintain the illusion that they care about medical patients.

You can tell the LP's are hoping for an appeal from the government, and sadly I'd put money on it happening. LPC just came out and said there will be no amnesty for possession arrests, 'no timeline' on legalization (notice how during the campaign it was 'right away'), etc.

And they will be even more 'firmly committed' to the recreational market.
All of the LP's are in a panic as there is no date for legalization, and only a short 6 month window until all patients can grow. Watch for massive price reductions, sales, promos and more 'compassionate pricing' as they are forced to compete for scrapes.

Wouldnt look good on the newly elected govt to appeal the sick. Especially given the coverage the decision got. And also the footage of Trudeau stating patients should have the right to grow. I believe the judge gave them 6 months to hurry the process for the sick and ailing

I couldn't agree more. The number of patients that will begin to grow, in my mind, will set in turn a REAL reduction of price at the LPs. For those that have no other recourse, it will be a boon, but to the companies, you're right, they will gut each other like fish competing for the money.

It will be a joy to behold.

Just another way to market and keep the tilray name in the media. They do not plan to go into rec because Privateer plans to do it for them with an affiliate company, kind of like PPS and Cannimed.

I think they just mean when legalization happens, "don't worry there will be some pot left for you medical guys"

It won't make one iota of difference if they appeal now....the MMPR is unconstitutional...end of story...it will be a delaying tactic and something they use to keep restrictions in place...for everybody except patients....
