Two minor gripes with this; first, there ARE people who say they don't want the services that socialist taxes pay for, which is why America does such a relatively poor job high providing same. They're called RICH people and they feel this way because they can afford to take care of their own family's needs and don't want to pay for anyone else's. I find their attitude self centered, to say the least.

Second, both Canada and America are partially socialist countries. The above services, plus the military, roads and other major infrastructure are collectively paid for via taxes. They aren't always adequately funded, not are the property for spending always logical, I'll grant you.

Like I said, two minor gripes.

The common as fleas on a mangy dog observation is absolutely accurate, however.
Your idea about US and Canada being partially socialist because there are some government provided social services completely ignores the original concept that the people of a socialist society would own the means of production and receive all the benefits. Your definition, and I'll grant that it's one of the common definitions of the term, is comparable to saying a woman can be partially pregnant. What we have in the US and Canada is a capitalist society with some government programs funded by taxes generated by capitalists.

Democratic Socialism is not Socialism...

That is what we should have, if the Government followed the Law.

If what you said actually occurred, we would not be $20 trillion in debt

Spoken like a true neoliberal.

But you aren't just a neoliberal because you'd ban a woman's right to choose. Just another right wingnut-neoliberal-fascist mixed up tool of some authority figure. Putin, perhaps, maybe Kim Jong Un, whatever. A tool of some shithead.

As long as the investments don't undermine Democracy, (taking Crimea wasn't cheap).

It did bring the customer base in line.
It was not well publicised in America, but it turns out that most residents of the Crimea and most of Ukraine wanted to be part of Russia.

We don't hear about that here because our media serves the interests of capitalist imperialism rather than Justice.

Thanks for confirming that my assessment is correct.

The fault lies entirely with the GOP. Focus on fixing it, not laying blame where it doesn’t belong"

This line from your post applies to many things.
I know, you're just soooooo happy to be able to fault Republicans and hold your precious Democrats blameless.

The trouble is that it's just not that simple, no matter how badly you want it to be.

you are the one who started the thread, linking to a really good bit of reporting that said:

Yet you say Democrats are to blame?

So, Democrats have removed any reference to global warming and carbon emissions from government websites? Did Democrats reverse US support for the Paris treaty? Did a Democratic Congress and Democratic president write gag orders preventing any government worker from discussing climate change?

Aren't you the one who burbles on about using methane as a component in the energy generation system?

You aren't a zero carbon footprint guy. Aren't you to blame? Why aren't you blaming yourself?

We both know that Republicans will obstruct any and all federal efforts to reduce carbon emissions. The states and corporations are doing more while the position of the president obstructs their efforts. The people who are most responsible are the ones that should be held responsible. I'm embarrassed for you that this even has to be said to you.

Hence, the headline from the first real news reporting outlet you quoted from in a long time:

The fault lies entirely with the GOP. Focus on fixing it, not laying blame where it doesn’t belong

What part of this don't you understand and why?

The part where Democrats vote with Republicans, such as on the banking finance reform bill.

Why did Bernie run as a Democrat ? If he lives to reach 2020 do you think he will run as a Dem again ?

Just read those words and think about how wrong you've been for so long.

No matter how much propaganda you read about Democrats, 31 will always be a larger number than 17 and 50 will always be larger than zero.

Did you know that when Bernie Sanders bill to repeal the Citizens United ruling, every Democrat voted for cloture while every Republican voted to maintain filibuster?

One should assign blame where the fault lies.

He ran as a Democrat because he caucuses with them and he was welcomed by the Democrats to provide the appearance of an actual race for the Democratic nomination. When he exceeded expectations and became a legitimate threat for the win, his candidacy had to be torpedoed. This was confirmed by no less than Donna Brazile, interim chair of the DNC at the time.

Questions have been asked about why Bernie did not run for president as an independent when he lost the Democratic nomination. The answer is that the contact he signed with the DNC to run as a Democrat required him to support the nominee. The DNC didn't live up to their end of the deal, but he did.

I'm not sure if Bernie would run as a Democrat again. He's got the best chance of winning as an independent of any candidate in living memory but American politics is badly gerrymandered in favor of the major party oligopoly.

Anything to blunt the will of the People in favor of those who are by now used to buying their way to power and influence.

Why would Bernie run as a Democrat if the party is so fucked ? He can't run Independent and win with his message on the National level ? What has Bernie done in his political career. NOT WORDS, but actions. so far I only have the renaming of post office.

Classic coming from you. How many threads have you create saying the same fucking thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again
