I really think my Son has lost interest. He use to be there everyday looking at the grows now good to get him to help, my wife helps me even though I know she has no interest.

Me I can no longer drive, go hunting, fishing, cut back on my eating and no sex. What else have I?
Why do you think he lost interest? What drew his interest to begin with? Nice to have your wife help you! Even if she does have interest.
I couldnt tell ya what else you have. That’s a question for you..
But if growing helps you fill some of those voids then you should definitely keep at it!

Living soil all the way!
No need for teas, or gimics or products. 99% of the grows here are water only. Just high quality soil and an openness to relearn what watering looks like compared to other styles of growing.

not sure if this was an “I give up and need an easier method” or what but give living soils a shot. takes time to figure it out but it’s great When you do. IMG_5451.jpegIMG_5445.jpegIMG_5276.jpegIMG_5231.jpegIMG_2619.jpegIMG_2583.jpegIMG_2548.jpegIMG_2233.jpegIMG_2234.jpegIMG_2140.jpeg

Holy smokes Nothing beats good soil.
Speaking of good soil. What’s your main recipe?

Speaking of good soil. What’s your main recipe?
The standard 1 part earth worm castings 1 part high quality spagnum peat moss. 1 part aeration(pumice/perlite)

then to every cf of this is 2-3 cups NPK ammendments like kelp, alfalfa, neem, crab.
4 cups minerals. Like basalts, azomite. Greensand, glacier rock dust et

1 cup oyster shell
1 cup gypsum
1 cup Briwn rice.
I find that the most important aspect is when measuring base ingredients you account for the perlite in most horticulture peat sources like promix/sunshine mix. So the average base recipe would look something like
2.5 gallons ewc
1.7 gallons perlite.
3.3 gallons “promix HP”

if you get he base right I’d any cake the flavor doesn’t matter. That’s how I look at my soils ifthat makes since. Don’t Fuxk up the base thanstay close to parameters. But you can choose any ammendments really. Add some bone meal, change up the minerals. Just stay close. But don’t deviate from the base.

and use the highest quality castings that can be sourced or better yet make your own.

Depends on the container and situation but typically just more high quality ewc when I’m containers.
When growing in beds it’s a process. green manures or mulches from plant mater and cover crops. Might use straw for the first run to get cover crops germinated. But I usually let nature take over after a minute. Chop and drop and the worms will make a natural mulch layer much like the Forrest floor after a couple rounds.

Another vote for living soil here. Living soil can be really really simple to do. Take your Happy Frog, mix in some compost and Garden-Tone or Dr Earth from the hardware store, and you're rocking.

One thing to keep in mind with living soil is the bigger the pot the better. If you have a decent starting mix and use 15-gallon pots or bigger, you probably won't need to add anything else the whole grow besides water. If you use smaller pots, you're gonna have to top-dress with more compost and fertilizer periodically throughout the grow.

I would guess most people who have issues growing in living soil are either using too small of pots or not using good quality compost/worm castings.

The very easiest way to grow high quality cannabis is Promix + Botanicare Pure Blend Pro.

One bottle is all you need start to finish. Just make sure to mix the nutrients and then pH to 6.5. you will be amazed how easy it is to grow fat buds with this method.

A quart of Botanicare bloom is 23 bucks on the interwebs and Promix can be found about anywhere.

Mix perilite outdoors or with a mask on, as it contains silica.

Haha I have mask on most the days. Today I ran keif tumbler for 8 hours straight. Don’t want to end up with keif lung in my old age. Soil work always have a mask for sure.

it helps to have a hose running and give the perlite a spray down prior to mixing. And I like to put my compost over top perlite which helps with the dust.

We used to get mineral in Box Cars at the Feed Mill.

Unload it and Lungs hurt for a long time. Back then mask what for. But also went to Concerts and my ears would hurt for 3 days. Now I can't hear even with Hearing Aids real well.

I am going deaf before my time working construction, and half the time everyone is in too big of a hurry to mask up, so I feel you.

You should still mask up for the dust, there's so much weed left to grow, and lung cancer is the motherfucker of all motherfuckers.

Set up a worm bin and run your rootballs and scraps through it to create “black gold”. Your plants will thank you
