Thrusting a plant into 12/12 for identity

I have two nineteen day old plants, and I want to discover their genders. How can I do this? How do I "pre-flower" them?

Would it be okay jus tto throw them into 12/12 and then wait and let them reveal sex and then throw them back into 24/0, once that I know what is male and what is female?

You can do what you described and it will work, but it will slow the plant down and stress it. I think you should get a few cuttings and try to root them. If they root throw them in your 12/12 chamber and see what sex they are.

I don't have a separate light chamber. I only have one area to work with here. And cloning is a little bit to much work, worry and effort for me.

I guess it is feasible to just go ahead and put them in 12/12 and hope for the best (they already have five nodes and are developing more).

you can do it that way but it doesn't seem like a good idea to me to advance the cycle and then send it back to veg, definitely will stress it.

They have five nodes. You know what, I think I am going to go ahead and flower them around the sixth node.

Is that fine?
