Thrips how long will they live without plants?

I found thrips in some plants I was growing As potential mothers in my mother room. I got rid of them because I didn’t think it’s worth keeping them and constantly battling with thrips. So I got rid of the plants and the pots they were in. But all my stuff was in the same room pots, bulbs, cloning trays etc. I just got a pack of some fire genetics and have a few packs on the way. I don’t want to start anything until I know these fuckers are dead cuz I don’t wanna have to continuously deal with them. So my question is how long do these things take to die with no plants or soil in the house to eat. Also winter is coming soon n I’m in Canada so hopefully that will work in my favour. Any advice would be great. I’d really rather restart with with preventative measures rather than go back and forth with these fuckers thanks you.

Dealing with them as well currently, pain in the ass for sure. I stripped a room of all pots and left it in a dark period for nearly 2 weeks, no light, water, or anything to feed on (I hope).

Thing is with thrips, no matter the season they will be present, at least indoor. We create the perfect environment especially in a tent for them to thrive.

It’s messed up that these even exist I heard a sulphur bomb might work but u don’t know the negative repercussions if it’s alright with no actual plants in the room I’d use 1

Lady bugs, and spinosad through veg into early flower. As long as they dont get a foothold early they arent much of a problem.

7 parts water o 1 part rubbing alcohol also clean the room with alcohol

I'm in canada too. I had a bad thrip infestation last spring. I cut everything down in June and didn't grow until end of August. Not a single thrip yet. Hopefully that makes growing again less scary. But always be keeping an eye out for signs.
