Thrips and Harvest

there have been problems with thrips on some plants. enough so that the leaves are very dry and brittle.
i have sprayed them twice and thought the second time they were taken care of. its about a week from harvest and i noticed that there are still some thrips and eggs on the leaves. enough to be a concern...
what can i do to ensure a 'clean' harvest? (ie. no eggs or bugs on the final out come)

i dont want to spray again and the plants will make it another week but my concern is for the little fuckers being there (or eggs) after the plants have dried.
is there any way to remedy or avoid this. (one plant is kind brittle and has a definate amount of thrips in the under leaves/buds)
toasting up thrips is not on the menu...bongsmilie :weed:

any suggestions to clean them off the plants so they arent part of the harvest (or final dried outcome)?

compressed air? clean the plants with water or heavily mist/clean before harvest? etc...
(maybe water curing, but trying to avoid that)

or do they just leave the plant once they're dry?

any suggestions are most welcome...

thanks!!! :weed::peace:

You can, in fact let the insects born while drying your plants ! But flushing water is a better idea for me !
How many plants are concerned ??

Spraying with water might be a good idea if your sure your plants can dry off fairly quick. Also I think a good trim will get rid of a lot of "trash" on your buds. I've used compressed air before but I wasn't sure if it was damaging Trics and didn't really see it helping that much so I stopped. I usually given clipped branches a good shake before trimming also. sorry for the delay...
i did a closer inspection and found that the small webbing was actually mold!
:o

as the plants were close to harvest i chopped them down...

some still had thrips BUT they werent in the buds. they were only on the leaves so it made for a clean trim...

as i saw, the thrips seemed to only stay on the leaves as its too sticky (yum) in the buds, which ideally means they wont be in the final mix...

hope that helps someone in the future...

:)

thanks for the suggestions and help!!!!!!:bigjoint::weed:

Late into flowering I don't believe thrips will be much of a problem, unless you have a infestation. And yes, they typically will stay on the leaves. Also I think most of them run away when you start chopping branches. By the time you start manicuring they are more than likely gone. The eggs are another story. I don't know enough concerning eggs on buds to comment, I would like to hear more on the subject if anyone has any good info.
