Three Strains a Charm

Veg Rm Specs:
- 3' W x 5.5' D x 3.5'-7' H. (under a staircase)
- 4 bulb 4' T8/32w fixture, 2 cool white, 2 warm white. Hang from chains.
- 2- 2 bulb 4' T12/40w fixtures each with one cool white and one warm white. Mounted on the wall behind plants.
- one 12"or so, table top fan, should be oscilating but it was a hand me down and just clicks.

Room has remained at high 70s with about 55-60% hum, since construction @ the end of Oct.
There is no active ventalation and I believe that I should be fine given the small size of the room.

Flower Rm. Specs:
- 2.5' W x 5.5' D x 7' H
- 400w/ HPS/ 6" CoolTube.
- One med tower fan
- 4" inline bilge/galley fan-240 cfm.(It's for boats and only cost me $35.00 off Ebay with shipping)

- Current set up is missing the inline fan because it has not arrived yet. Based on the "heat rises" concept the cold air intake for the CoolTube is aprx. 18" off of the floor while the hot air exhaust runs to a 6"-4" reducer fitting up at the ceiling.
- I placed a 3" 90 deg elbo aprox 12" off the floor with the tower fan infront of it, allowing cooler air from under the stairs behind the flower room in. I then placed a 4" T above the HPS ontop of the ceiling allowing hot air to escape.
- I plan on connecting the Light exhaust to the room exhaust( "T") and placing the inline fan at the end, "Pulling" air from both and then pushing through a Carbon Scrubber I still have to make.

- Even without the inline fan in yet the temp at the pot level has averaged 80 deg. I have an old Weather gauge at the ceiling level and it averages 90+ and 60% hum. However, it is old and is coil style not mercury so I don't entierly trust it.

-The Stock: One seed from dispensery bag of Bubba Kush. One seed from dispensery bag of Grape Krush. So I know these seeds aren't "Pure", only strain dominent but hey they were free. Cracked them papper towel style and then put them in MG Organic Potting Mix in a DIY Bubbleponics system at the end of Oct 2010. BAD IDEA!! Total newbee, ill concieved plan, which quickly let me know by trying to kill the babies. Moved them into a bland starter style mix and 86 the Bubbleponics. They rebounded nicely which is good cause they are 2 sexy ladies. Mid Nov. I purchased a seed pack from The Centennial Seed CO. based here in Co. The strain is called "21" and is a cross of CSC Blueberry and Sweet Tooth. Suppose to be a indica dom. yet clear headed. Started 5 seeds out of 13. All cracked, and broke soil at the same time.

- I then tried to kill them by not waiting to feed them some "Tea" I made from some compost and started to burn em. Yep don't feed them babies till they have lost their little seed leaves. And really don't feed them with dry soil, pre-moisten it :wall: I flushed them and saved all but one. That one and another runt were removed early to mid Dec. removing weaker Genetics of my "21". The remaing three have done well, the largest one ended up being male. Which was fine because I had hoped for a male so as to play Mad Scientist later. He is a stud with great features including fast/strong groth and tollerance to stupidity

- After looking around the web I chose a semi-soilless mix of peat, perlite, sand, and mushroom compost, aswell as Eko brand organic potting mix. Sounds like alot but it all works for different stages of my grow. I also got some Bone Meal and Fish emmultion because I was in a jam and couldn't wait to get the Blood Meal I really wanted.. If people want I'll give parts per for the three mixes I do for the 3 stages.( Seed/Clone-Veg-Flwr)
e
- Stay away from MG Soil unless you have Natroll or diatematious earth to battle the fungus gnats that almost always come with the MG Soils.

- Rust mold/ Black Spot looks alot like an N def. to the untrained eye(well mine anyway) My grape Krush is suffering, hence the Fish juice, and at lights out she gets misted with a apple cider/water mix which kills most molds including Rust. I'll have to let you know if I notice a dif.

cool set up bro. i like it. +rep the plants you have left look great. once you get that inline fan, your room is going to be perfect. if you dont have a temp controler, i would use a timer. otherwise you might get to cold. that fan will empty that room in about a minute. a nice little temp controller will keep things perfect all the time. looks like you got that thing pretty sealed up. you may want to try c02 down the road. you will be blown away the difference in your buds.
keep it up bud.

Fans here however I spaced the fact that boats run on 12v DC. And being that my cool fan is for boats it to runs on 12V DC. So I will be looking into getting one of those multi-adapter, adjustable voltage dealy-bobs for when you lose the power cord to one of your random small household appliences. But for now the battery from a power wheels will due. I would use the charger however it puts out a mere 1amp and the fan needs 4+ amps. I already tried and overheated the charger. So I decided to use the battery. I did wire it for a thermostat, yet again I in my medicated hast I forgot that the thermostat I had out in the shed was heat only. Which does me no good since it only comes on when the temp drops, not when it gets hotter. But other then a slight placement issue and having to pilfer ducting from my dryer, then fan is in place and operational. Boy does it move some air, a fact my girlfriend is not fond of because moven all that air that fast(240cfm) out a 4" hole is noisy. Hoping that once my filter is on it will muffle some of the sound. However it is set to a day time run, and is in the basement and soon will be temp. controlled, I be cool.

P.S. One of the "21" that's into flower, #5 to be exact. Has began to gain height at such speed that I have had to tie her over to like 45 deg. I now prob going to have to put in a support of some sort, Mainly cause I topped #5 and we are only 8 days into 55-65 day flower. Woo Hoo and OH NO. I'll post pics tomorrow.

10 days in and they are starting to look good. I put my fan in after cursing myself for spacing out the fact that boats run on 12V DC. Being that my cool lil fan is for a boat it to needs 12V DC. Where there is a will there is a way and I have come up with a short term and long term fix. I put that baby in and it keeps the light cool to the touch and dropped room temp down to the mid 70s. It may be a bit noisy but with a free flow rate of 240 CFM and only being 4", it's bound to roar a little. I'm hoping that when I put the carbon can filter on it will muffle it some. I have to pick up the right thermostat to complete the system but WooHoo. I am afraid I have not fixed my my rust mold problem and the gnats keep trying to come back. However a buddy has some ?neem? oil he's gonna give me. Any advise, suggestions, ect... would be great.

So on the off chance that my plant problem is nutrient burn, or more likely mag/calc, low PH, basic lockout. I have flushed the soil, but out of fear of getting rid of all the food I only flushed till it was a light brown. I'm then going to fallow with a gallon of epson salt solution. I am glad that I did do the semi-flush mainly because I finally got the lower soil good and wet for the first time since it had been potted. Damn them pots ate alot of water before they started leaking out.

-The Ladies in Flower: GrapeKrush stands 36" and has 4 major lateral branches @ 28"-30", with tons of bud site all up and down her and her lil trics are starting populate the buds. "21" #5 is trained over at a 45 deg aprox. 16" from soil to control height during first weeks of flower. This also aloud her lower lateral branches to move in and up to fill the void. Her two main stems stand 36"+. "21" #2, shows def signs of being the short phenotype of "21". She is a pleasant urn shape and is the shortest of them topping out at 29". Over all #2 does have the best color and leaf health. "Dude" is coming along but due to the manner I put him in I might only be able to harvest pollen this run and have to wait to use it.
-Girls in Veg: I have been topping the main stem and lateral branches of my three month old BubbaKush as well as trimming fan leafs exposing new bud sites. The result is a short bushy Lady that is most likely gonna take up the whole Flower room by the time she goes in around the end of Feb. I topped BK/Cl-1 (BubbaKush/Clone #1), which actually started with two main stems. BK/Cl-2 is untouched at this point, but I will LST soon. GK/Cl-1 I LST full 90 @ 8th node then topped @ 10th node leveling off the canopy for now. GK/Cl-2 was topped @ 8th node. "21"#5/Cl was grown to 8th+ node then topped @ 6th node, hoping for 4main stems with one topping. "Dude"/Cl-2 that was looking good is starting to pale and still hasn't rooted.

Getting ready to get some high K fert/ to help with flower quality. Think next major grow and such I will add some cocoa fiber to the flowering soil mix to give higher K value to the mix. GK is looking GRRRREEEEAAT. I hate to say this but I wish "21" #5 would stop gaining height. She's forcing the light up away from the other ladies.:-(

I got out a couple of cinder blocks, 8"x16"x4" to put the GK and "21"#2 on so they could continue to get close to the same intensity of light as "21"#5. I have had to split the difference of the distance of the light. Thank god I have a cool tube other wise I believe the tops would get some major heat stress. Yesterday I fed them some FoxFarms Bloom at the "General Feeding" dosage with 1/2 gal per six gallon pot

Been noticing browning tips-paling- then yellowing of older fan leafs and older inner leafs moving from the bottom up. Is this normal or what? Going to have to ask/look around. WHOOOHOOO my "Dude" clone rooted, took him a bit but man when he rooted he did it well. I was afraid my plan for seeds was gonna get screwed up. MMMM can't wait to medicate with this home grown goodness. I have never been able to finish a grow due to bad luck in the past so I am very excited and am pleased thus far with grow.

Here are the ladies, looking yummy. GK is giving me a hard time, can't figure out if I should be worried. Johnny 5, ("21"#5) had to be tied over again so I could shove her further back into the corner.
