Why not just chop off the 2 pin plug and wire on a normal 3 pin UK plug? saves buying an adaptor

no, I still need to order but can't find a three pin so I can directly plug in a light

options:
1. If you need a light with a UK plug just order from a UK shop and it will come with the correct plug.

2. if you need a light with a 3 pin UK plug why are you looking at lights with only 2 pin plugs?

3. You could just order a light that has a 2 pin plug and re-wire it to a 3 pin plug

Is English not your first language?

Can you send me a link to the light you want to buy? Will be a lot easier to help you if I know what light you are going to buy

Right.....

For a PC grow box you will basically be using light bulbs (CFL`s), these come in either a screw cap or bayonet fitting.

The E27 fittings you were talking about are screw cap fittings, the same light but with bayonet fittings are B27 (E27 and B27 are just codes for describing the size and type of fitting E= screw cap B=Bayonet fitting)

So E27= Screw cap 27mm
B27= Bayonet cap 27mm

Screw cap fittings are mainly for US/Europe use but are getting more popular in the UK
Bayonet fittings are the main type used in the UK and have been for years

So find the BULBS that you want to use (wattage/screw size etc), see if they have a screw cap or bayonet fitting and then buy the relevant sockets for them

Wilkinsons sell all the bulbs/sockets/wire etc yo will need if you want to buy OFFLINE
There are numerous sites including ebay/amazon etc if you want to buy them ONLINE

Before i type more do you know what wattage bulbs you are going to be using or do you need help with that as well?
How many bulbs are you planning on using for your PC grow?

If you let me know this info I will provide you with a shopping list and where to get them and then a wiring diagram for you to wire them up (its very easy to do so dont sweat it)

I've already got x2 125w cfls e27 that I'm using for my current grow but should be done with them in about 4 days... can you send me an ebay link to one of those *relevant sockets* for an e27

Yeah, B14 postcode
Right well Wilkinsons sell EVERYTHING you need an its cheaper in there than buying online n paying the postage if you can get there

Shopping list

A) E27 sockets/lampholders (think it was 4 you said you needed?)

B) Block connector- http://www.wilko.com/electrical-accessories/wilko-terminal-block-12-way-30a/invt/0051992 ( buy the thickest one, think its rated for 30A)

C) Electrical wire- they sell this by the metre in store, go for the thickest one there http://www.wilko.com/electrical-accessories/tower-flex-round-white-3-core-1mm+sup2-wk518280-x-50m/invt/0238552 (just put this up as an example but you want the thickest WHITE 3 core wire they do, i think its 30A) Only you will know how many metres of this you will need for YOUR needs
Also buy 1 metre more than you need for wiring up the individual bulb sockets to each other

D) Electrical insulating tape http://www.wilko.com/electrical-accessories/wilko-pvc-insulating-tape-45m-x5/invt/0216340?VBMST=electrical tape

E) A plug http://www.wilko.com/electrical-accessories/wilko-plug-fitted-with-rated-fuse-13a/invt/5337578 (nothing less than a 13A fuse)

Once you have got all these bits together let me know and ill show you how to wire it all up so it works

Out of interest how are you powering your 125W bulbs at the moment? do you have a picture of them and their electrical connections? As depending on what fittings they already have you may not need to buy new ones.

Only way to delete a thread is to ask the admins to do it

If you go on to my current grow there should be some pics (pure afghan grow)

sa.jpg and this is screwed into a E40-E27 adapter which is screwed in to a E40 Grow light hanger (hope this makes sense :D) THE SOCKETS IN THE PIC ARE E27 WHICH IS THE SAME AS MY GROW LIGHTS
