i figured the perlite i put on top will just mix in when i up pot them to final pots. but i’ve always hates gnats.. so to make sure i don’t get them (realistically to minimize them) i put perlite on top of the pots! updates coming tomorrow with new grow lights!1780A7C4-77F7-49A0-A6C3-7D5CF30A796D.jpegE89C550A-9086-48AA-A31D-BF70CDB49A68.jpegB52F9B4D-6F18-472E-A1E5-227D3D88643C.jpeg

recommendations on dehumidifiers? about to order one for the grow shop.
how many pints? You could probably get away with a 70 pint one until you fill up all the tents. I like my Homelabs model from Amazon, and I have a GE that's pretty nice too. Both seem to work equally well.

Congratulations man. Sounds like you're off to a great start! I never had much luck with perlite keeping fungus gnats out. Maybe I didn't put it down deep enough or something. I finally just started using Gnatrol BTI granules once I see a couple flyers and I put up the yellow sticky traps. It works pretty well, nothing's perfect for sure, but this stuff after a couple applications seems to wipe them out fairly thoroughly.

thankfully i don’t really have gnats at all i’m just taking preventive measures before it possibly happens. but i know a few tricks. apple cider vinegar and dawn dish soap work very well.

I love those in the kitchen! I add in a pinch of sugar to help lure them in. Put it in a bowl next to the kitchen sink to catch the ones that like to hang around for the water. Too cool, my grandma taught me that.

5-9d from sprout!

just put another exhaust in so now two out of two 4x8s have exhaust systems. just 2 more lights 6 more fans & a couple other small ticket items and my second tent is completely setup!

a couple of these babies from ethos have deep purpling underneath the leaves and new growth is coming in deep purple and growing out green. it’s very cool. so far so healthy.

also adding a layer of perlite on top worked amazingly. i don’t have ANY bugs at ALL right now.

so one tent is running x2 aglex 240W & an SF4k 450W

the other tent is running a Mars FCE4800 - x2 aglex 240W and i’m planning to put a 1kW HPS on a light mover in tent x2DDD56892-F74A-4AE8-A930-94F269960448.jpegA3AC83E4-FB69-459A-9CD4-AD09BE508263.jpeg0DB35A0E-8C46-4D99-B6A1-F1F0EFEC43E3.jpegEE811D54-423C-45F2-B5BF-AB01C9F9D11B.jpeg4B899760-49BA-425A-9E38-5ECEEA7F8C65.jpeg
