Heya boyos,

So unlike last time I decided to fill you all in on my grow come flowering time. So here we have it. Ill break it down for you.

The Plants

  • Two Feminized G13 x Haze's from Barneys Farm.
  • About 6 weeks old and have been heavily lst'ed since day 14.
  • Flower day 8

The Soil

  • My own mix of Fox Farm Ocean Forest, about 40% ph balanced perlite and humic acid.
  • Three gallon pots.
  • One inch of hydroton grow rocks at the base to help drainage.
  • About two inches of grow rocks at the top of the soil. This makes watering such bushy plants SO EASY. I really only need to water in four corners and the rocks distribute it evenly.
  • Soil balanced at 6.5

The Water and the Nutes

  • Fed 2000 ml of distilled water and nutes every 2 days.
  • 5 ml of cal/mag because of the distilled waters purity.
  • 2 tsp of Cornicopia GROW.
  • Switching to flowering line from Fox Farm once the stretch is over.

The Closet

  • 4 Ft wide x 3 Ft deep x 8 Ft High
  • 400 Watt HPS with a 430 Hortilux bulb and an air cooled hood from American Agriculture.
  • 180 cfm Vortex Fan that pulls air throgh a carbon filter--->Hood-->Fan--->Exhaust Vent
  • Temps stable at 73 degrees with lights ON and OFF
  • Intake is through a vent I installed in a long hallway outside of my room. Lots of fresh air because its right next to our door to outside.
  • One oscilating fan.
  • One box fan pulling air in from the intake.
  • Hood rigged up to some pulleys.

Here are the pics! Like I said, they vegged for about 5 weeks and besides some calmag and nitrogen deficiencies they have been very healthy and stress free!

The other random lady in there is just temporary, holding it for a friend.

Comments more than welcome brothas.

Stay tuned for updates, Peace and bacon grease.

  • The vent up close. Its really just a round hole I cut through the drywall and then covered it with a $6 vent from the depot. Works really well.

  • Thats an intake vent I installed in a long hallway outside of my room. The closet is right on the other side of this wall. Works so nice.

  • The Vortex fan that pulls air through a carbon filter, then through the glass hood, and then pushes it out through the above vent. Keeps temps at 71.

  • All three. My plants are the two in the back.

  • No topping no fimming. Just some twine.

  • Plant #1

  • Plant #2

  • Group shot.

  • Heh, thats my womans busted cilantro on the right. To me, its like a redheaded stepchild.
Alright ya'all, what you think? Anyoneone see any improvements I could work on etc?

wow you tie your ladies down man, looks real nice, great job. What size/type of carbon filter you got in there, does it completely eliminate the odors? Im still getting set up for my own first grow, probably gonna do 4 plants at a time and Im worried I wont be able to control the smells, whats your thoughts and experience thrawn, how was it through flowering with your first grow? Peace

Wannabe,

Hey man. I built my carbon filter using some aluminium screen wrapped tight around two 5" to 4" duct reducers, then took a honeywell carbon filter replacement cartridge and wrapped that around the screen. Sucks air through it well. I replace the filter every go around because it sucks in alot of dust. Works great mate!

Heres a link on a DIY. Helped me out.

Thanks for the info, I got a carbon filter from HTG supply (they're big mofo's) was just wondering how well they really do at eliminating smells, so it sounds like it works well for you and you get no odor probs, great, just what I wanna hear.

Day 10 of flower. I havent seen the stretch that I did with Hindu Kush which is odd.

I want the stretch. Makes my morning lst/coffee/wake-the-fuck-up-time alot more enjoyable.

  • Whats been goin on guys? I have an update for you, the plants are looking nice and I figured I would show them off for a bit. Enjoy
  • One thing though, I have had alot of leaves turning yellow and dying on me. I am afraid the plants lost enough to fuck up my yield. Looks like phos def eh? I thought it was N at first and had been feeding it grow nutes for about a week. Back to tiger bloom!

Plant 1 below.

Plant 2 below.

  • Remember, comments are more than welcome. Especially if you have anything to say about the yellowing.

Today I fed them each a gallon of water with 4tsp of Big Bloom and 10ml of CalMag. Hopefully this fixes all the yellowing thats been going on. Also switched up my active intake setup, opting for a 65cfm squirrel fan over my duct tape box fan niggarig. Damn thing gets so hot it brought my temps up from 76 to 83. Gotta switch that back around tommorow.

For some reason I felt it would be a good idea to alternate my feeding with straight water, like everyone recommends. Looks like my problems have come from overfeeding them. Straight water for the next week.

i bought two seeds from barneys farm. feminized cost about $22 a piece. attitude seedbank sent them. they are the shit.

my last post was wrong. i meant that I never alternated between nutes and plain water. I always fed with nutes. Looks like that was my problem.

To fight the yellowing I am feeding with straight water for the next 10 days or so. Question is, if I am using RO water should I still be adding CalMag?

peace

awesome man, those look great. always wondered what the g13's look like without getting tied down. the resin production on the guys is out of control. its coating almost 75% of the fan leaves surrounding the buds. really sweet shit!
