Hey I'm Chris a new grower started growing about 43 days ago and Just thought I'd come on here and show my plant hopfully gets some feedback on how back I am as a grower lmfao. And my play only takes 65 days to grow so not long now

This is an Auto Female AK not growing like the picture but oh well.

Currently at this time it's about 46cm tall and 37cm wide on the longest leaves

This is my current grow set up its 2 100 watt Incandescent bulbs (I know they kick out alot of heat a can ruin and dry leaves It happened ) but the CFL's I have are 40 watt but as there obv energy saving things they are 9 watts ? so not sure if that means that the lumens are of a 40watt any way so got a basic tinfoil sides of every corner and I'm growing with soil and just filtered bottle water don't really know what nutes to use as I'm going very cheap on my first grow as you can see I keep the temp in there to about 25 to 30 degrees.

They have grow abit more since posting before but also I was wondering if any one has like pics of a buds starting to form because I would really love to see it Thanks Chris

hey bro, I don't think u shld use incandescent. I don't think they produce much usable light and they do emit bulk heat as you say. You would be much better advised to grab some cfl lamps, if budget is an issue then you can add one every week or something, but you will want a minimum of about 150w or more if possible (actual wattage not equiv rating) of cfl per plant, 6400k veg, 2100k flower but you have an auto so maybe mixed spectrum not sure. Don't worry about 'equivalent rating', eg. 24watt - 100w equivalent, you want actual watt. And small wattage cfl's should be literally one-two inches from the plant. Cfl's are cheap to buy especially it seems in the usa, where I am not. :) The tin foil is also going to keep heat around like a little oven so I'd ditch it, white paint is best, but I'm sure it will be ok if you just get some cfl's that don't generate much heat anyway. Also do you have a little fan in there for ventilation. Feed the plant some cheap soluble 'flowering' nutrients if it looks like it needs it but go very easy. All the best

Certainly ditch those lights. CFLs are the way to go, even cheap LEDs would be better than those.
If your plants are not showing any signs of deficiency, I would not add nutrients. The soil may contain all that you need. What type of soil is it?
Air circulation is another key factor to good growth, as plants need to breathe. A small fan blowing on it will not only keep the temps lower with fresh air, but also strengthen the stalks.
When it comes time to flip the light schedule to 12-12, you will need to have ventilation dialed in. The grow box needs 12 hours of complete darkness, and any light leaks will stress the plant.

Reminds me of the first time I tried to grow a seed in my dorm room with a 60 watt incandescent.. Notice how tall and thin she is? I think an auto grown under cfls would probably be more bushy,,If you look at my auto in my journal (May be different strain etc).... Learning all of this is half of the fun. Cheapest method may be to just get a work light reflector and 3 y splitters. Plug one y into the socket and then add one y to each of those sockets.this is an easy way to use 4 cfl's. Now that I think of it though you may need an extender to fit it all in there. The extender looks like a socket with a plug outlet on it.. I prefer flat white paint to tinfoil or mylar. Easier to look at when tending plants.

Hope this helps.. Good luck.

These are pretty sweet. I can't find them in stores however... This with 4 26w or higher with a homemade reflector would rock 1 plant I think.

I'm impressed actually.
Have to agree with sunny. Get some CFL's and stick them right next to your plant. If you put them on the sides it may help your plant fill out width wise. 6500k is the CFL bulb your looking for, to Veg and get bushier.
