I hear ya, they kind of used to control that with enormous tax rates for those who made over $440,000 a year. Which is why nobody made over $440,000 a year or they had their earnings deferred.
But those rich guys all got together and lobbied the system for literally decades until they got those taxes lowered and all hell's broken loose since.
CEO's (that weren't even called that back then) used to make around 40X what the shop floor workers made. Now some make 2000X while they cut as many jobs as they can so they can get a big Chris Craft yacht bonus.
Nobody ever said life would be fair though, so there's that.
OK, this is getting a little heavy for TnT, so I'll lighten it up a bit with an amusing story of a phone call I got today.
Guy calls from Philly area code. Asks for me by my first name. Says he's calling on behalf of the police union and relief fund and would I like to donate?
I told him he was obviously not paying attention to the recent news cycles and to call back someday when he's not so fucking tone deaf. Click.
I like the local town cops here, one is a cute girl who always stops when I'm working around the house to jibber jabber a little bit. Very friendly, too bad they all can't be more like her.
