This is a male right? not a hermie

This is such a newbie question, but I've always grown out fem seeds and decided I wanted to grow out some males to collect pollect from this time. I thought this was a male plant from the little balls that are forming, but looking closely it appears there are also a few little white hairs coming out too, which I though were only specific to females. So .....this is a male right and not a hermie? Or do you just have to wait till flowering before you can tell if it's a hermaphrodite?

Plant's only about a 1.5 ft tall. Should I veg him out a little longer and let more pollen sacks form before I switch to flowering? I'll be moving him to a closet in another room so he doesn't pollinate all the females in my other room of course.
Thanks for the help.

Cha. Male. Cut it down and put it in a glass of water away from the grow with a big piece of tinfoil under it. Then the balls will open and drop pollen. Put it in a bag and keep it in the freezer if you want to make your own seeds.

why cut it and put it in a glass with water? that doesn't seem to make sense. I was just gonna flower it under some CFL's in another closet
