Thinking about topping some of my outdoor plants. Advice Please

I have 14 girls (northern lights X skunk). Currently they are around 6-8" (4-5 nodes) under 600watts of CFL in the closet but will be going outside this week. Im looking into topping inorder to increase yield. Will topping increase my yields outside or should I just let them do their thing?

i believe topping outdoors will not incrase yield but may increase stealth.

Ok ya i am some what concerned with heli's but all the years iv lived here (15) i only see a few national guard heli's flying a local river but they were flying in pattern (1 lead to trailing) so I highly doubt they were looking for ganja.

I think of topping and/or fimming as mandatory outdoors ...it always makes things better, below are before/after pics, a lil tiny plant that went into the ground on june 27th last year...shortly after I topped it once , and it turned into the perfect bush full of tops you see in the 2nd pic which was sept. 17th... it keeps plants more bushy but if anything it increases yield.
so thats my take on it.

I was thinking to try supercropping or lst to my inground plants.

Topping will increase yield. Some people prefer a main cola, for bragging rights, but a topped plant, followed by subsequent topping, will provide more internodal bud growth. I take a lot of clones, so by default I have a lot of topping going on. You can over-top, so let 4-6 nodes of growth happen before each topping.
