Come tuesday will mark 7 weeks from the 12/12 flip. i've read that in coco you need to flush for ~1 week? just unsure when i should start that, i tried to get some pictures of Trichomes the best i could haha. The site i got the seeds said 7-9 weeks for one and 6-7 weeks for the other. (two different strains).

ty for any help!

The times stated at the seed sites are usually a couple weeks short. You can flush if you want but I've been growing in coco for years and haven't ever flushed. Just taper the nutes down.

Your supposed to start counting your weeks after the first signs of flowering, not from the 12/12 switch. Don't harvest too early.
Doh! ill have to go back and view my pics and dates to try and find out when that was!

Just like sugar and xtsho said. Those breeder times are counting from first flower formation not 12/12 flip. Also the breeder times aren't typically very accurate. Simply enough your grow and plants are different from theirs. Don't worry about going back and finding the pictures. It really doesn't matter. They will be done when ever they are done. Typically that is 1-2 weeks AFTER you think they are done ;).

Get some closer shots of the buds for us, and I'll explain the typical maturation process for you so you can watch it happen on your plants :).

Great pictures!

It is REALLY easy to harvest too early. I don't really believe all the "harvest early for a head high" stuff anymore. I have grown thousands of plants and lots of phenotypes of a bunch of strains. If you want a heady euphoric high, grow a plant that is supposed to have that effect. The only thing you get from cutting early is less high, less yield, and less quality.

It is much harder to harvest to late then most people will lead you to believe. I've never seen someone accidentally over ripen a plant. It takes weeks of ignoring your plants for that to happen.

Most plants follow a pretty typical maturation pattern. First the stigma receed back towards the buds, THEN the buds start to swell internally. The individual bracts will begin to plump up and look fat. Finally during this last stage the trichomes can be checked to determine exactly when you want to harvest. This ripening process usually takes 2ish-3ish weeks AFTER the buds stop growing much outwardly. Some plant may do this faster, but its not something where one day the plant is good and the next its over ripe. It all takes time.

I learned years ago that there is zero advantage to cutting early unless you must for some outside reason. The best smoke comes from healthy fully matured buds!

So looking at the fresh new pictures I would say you are getting close to the end of outward bud growth, but you can tell there is still lots of white stigma down away from the top. So I think its got another 1-2 weeks of bud growth still, and then probably another 1-2 weeks to fully mature. It will be easier to dial the time frame after the next 2 weeks. After most of the stigma finish receeding, the bracts will swell up thats the next sign for you to watch for.

Man thank you so much for the info!! I'm in absolutely no rush to try and get this done quick so I'll let her do its thing haha. I'm just really surprised I got this far with my first grow. Never ran into any issues really but I've been keeping a close eye to them the whole time as if they are my babies haha.

Thanks again!! I'm sure I'll post an update in ~2 weeks
