Hey my stems are thin... They are like sprouting size stems... The plants are like 4 or 5 inches tall and I have to hold the up with a stick and string... why arent the stems thicker??? I've never had this happen before heeeelppp!!! lol

they will thicken up as you go...from my experience at least...get that gentle fan breeze blowing on em to stretch those stem cells. You can use the slitted straw method for support if you must, but I just let em do their thing. They straightened up just fine!

Yeah I saw that somewhere... You think that's better than the string and stick method??? I guess either are fine.. I'd try the straw one but I wouldn't be able to get the straw around the leaves. I'd like to do it but I don't wanna loose my leaves. I'm thinkin if I could use the straw it'd keep in moisture and probably help make the stems bigger... iuno I'm worried a little about it... I'll pull on out of the room and take a pic with the webcam cause my digital cam isn't at my house right now...

So I'll take a pic and see what yall say.

Ok I have 3 or 4 plants this tall and with the same problems... The room is so small I can't fit a normal fan in it... Maybe I'll find a computer fan to get to blow on them...

I put my pinky up so you can see just how small this really is stem wise.

Other than the thin stems the babes are looking beautiful.. 9 plants Total some will get thrown out soon cause I need to upgrade to bigger pots and my grow room isn't finished so they can't grow too tall in this temporary room. Plus there's some weak plants. 6 keepers about so far so I'm luckin out so far. lets hope they are beautiful ladies too!!!

crap man. it must be the airflow...or a lousy strain of bagweed? either way...that is not good looking. sorry.

Yeah I'm betting it's airflow... You don't think it's too late to throw them in the big grow room and put a fan in there do you.. I was just about to say before I read the post that I was guessing it is airflow... I'm 6'2" also so my hands are pretty big... I'm guessing they are around 5/32" thick... Tonight when the timer hits midnight when the lights go out I'm gunna try stickin them in the unfinished grow room and put a fan on them... The one they are in now is only like 1 foot by 2 feet by like 2 and a half feet... the main grow room that I'm building is like 9 feet wide or more by 7 feet tall and 3 feet from the door to the parallel wall... so hopefully the fan will help things out if not I will kill myself lol.

I've had them tall like that before. They fell over when I hit them with the fan. One took a month for me to get it back on it's feet and growing after the fan but it is now 2.5' tall.

transplant them into bigger pots and bury the sems far up so that they have support and you should be fine

Thanks Kron Mogie suggested that too. They've gotten a lot thicker recently and are looking pretty decent though tall its over all nice.. I transplanted a few. I guess this incandescent experiment isn't a waste after all It may not produce the best bud but for those just looking for a personal grow it'd work in my opinion so far... I can't wait to get back to growing the good stuff soon. Hopin to pick up some white widow seeds... I heard those are harder to grow anyone have any info on that?

Do they just require better lighting (obviously better than incandecents) Like better than CFL's for growing. And do they just require more attention like watering and just general things? Once I get the seeds I'm going to try to get MH for Veg and HPS for flowering. I figure that'd be the best combination for some awesome WW bud. Correct me if I'm wrong though

MH and HPS is perfect.

What i am to believe it means is that White Window is less forgiving than other strains, as in if you screw something up. They may be more sensitive to nutrients, harder to clone, need more optimal conditions to grow.
