Im educated about the basics of lights like what kind to get and how many watts and stuff, but these im unsure what kind they are and if they will work or not for vegging or flowering. The lightbulb says PHILIPS 75w,k7, and reflector agro.

Thats an incandescent bulb, not good, to much heat. You want CFl's (compact fluorescents) for the same kind of fixture that bulb would go in. But if you want to invest some money get a HPS or MH, even better yet a duel spectum. and if you go that route dont do less than 400 watts, othewise use CFL's for a few plants.

Good news though If anyone needs to shine a light in someones eyes and yell "Where were you on the night of?" You will be their guy.

Incandecent lightbulbs put out mucho heat, thats right I said mucho. And to top it all off you get a fraction of the light you would get from a florecet tube and that is nowhere near where you need to be.

No,it will not do the job, they can write anything they want on the package but it dont mean it pertains to growing mj.

The first thing you need to understand is that shit that's made for house plants dont mean its good for growing weed, most people who have house plants are not worth a shit at growing, they buy snake oil bullshit expecting big results, when these results dont come they blame the plants demise on their brown thumb.

There are 5 types of lighting that are proven to grow mj with good results & yours is not one of them.

1 High Pressure Sodium.

2 Metal Halide.

3 CFL.

4 T-5.

5 Sunlight.

Dont waste your cash on that k-mart crap, break down, spend $150 & get a real grow light system that will produce fat tasty buds, what ever you put into your grow you'll get back out at harvest,a $7 grow light will give you a $7 headache bud,a $150 High Presure Sodium light ststem will give you 6 ounces of fat sticky buds.

And dont forget the LED revolution, they are going to take over grow lighting.

that theory is still somewhat debated..... although LED's have been proven to work for vegging plants it is unlikly that LED light systems will surpass HPS for flowering....

Well from my first hand expirience, which is what counts. I have seen darker, more detailed greens, bigger fatter buds with more resin production. Deeper penetration into thew canopy and higher yields all around. But those are the qualities I want my lights to give my cannabis, I dont know what you want out of your lights.
