THELOADEDDRAGON'S 2009 Outdoor

I have found a new location for my outdoor for this year, and have two healthy mothers (1 Purple Kush, 1 Sensi Star A.K.A. Bubblegum Kush) ready to take clones from, and a halfway prepared sight. I will update with more info a little later, pics of the area, the mothers, and the buds from the same genetic stock (that I grew last season). I think I may have in between 50-100 plants outside this season, I am going to try new things as always. So hopefully you can all enjoy the ride (watching me work my ass off again!) :D. Feel free to comment, here's a link to last years journal, Happy smoking.

ok... this is a huge outdoor project. As you can see I am excavating that hillside (with a shovel, pick, and wheel barrow), and installing an all natural quartz pathway. I am also putting in two 3 1/2 foot drystack rock retaining walls comprised of granite, limestone, and quartz. I am using some of the excavated soil to back fill behind the stone wall (but will also be purchasing additional appropriate backfill for the walls). I wouldn't recommend you do these things unless you are an experienced mason, and if you are, wait until you see the full process of building it to criticize, everything that is up now is temporary and no where near finished. I have so much work on the site area itself its rediculous. But I will have my outdoor season there this year nonetheless.

Im about to take the clones that are going to go out this year. 120 clones total, but I will take them in batches of 30 or so. I plan to put them out in mid June. I will comprise a list of strains and plant numbers later, because I am still working that out. Back to work...

Damn!! Thats a big area to be hand diggin. It looks prety secluded but Im sure when you get those little ones started they will stand out. Hope its not too far from your house so you can keep an eye on them.

thanks guys. the whole area was hillside, and I am digging about 17 feet into the mountainside, and 6 feet down at the deepest point. Dragging out a bunch of soil to level it out further so the entire level area ("pad") will be even larger than just the area I am excavating. All the digging is for is to level the ground, I'm excavating so I can put in a greenhouse for next year (25'Lx20'W), there won't be a greenhouse up this year though. For anyone interested in landscaping or masonry, I am also putting in a fountain and I am going to make a stone & mortar bench too. But for this year for this grow, I am just going to finish digging back into the hillside and leveling the area off, and put the plants up with some windbreaks. I feel the utmost comfort with my location, lets just leave it at that.
I have checked the sun tracks since July of last year to ensure maximum light exposure (after I cut down a couple of trees with my trustee chainsaw, yeehaa!), and checked all viewpoints from the area and found it practically invisible from any inhabited area. Besides, this is a legal medical grow. The biggest issue with this grow is the soil and the soil ammendments. The soil I want is too expensive to get as much as I need as soon as I need it, so I am going to have to figure that out as I go. They existing clay soil is useless, I might mix my own, or I might buy a shitload, and just reuse it next year. Hopefully the plants will be about 2 ft tall each when they go out in June, starting to flower in mid to late August, and harvesting in October/November, so I am expecting the plants to be about 8-10 ft tall just like last year, but bushier, :). I am going to attempt to get about a half to full elbow out of each one (last years harvest just went too quick, smoke smoke smoke, :) ).

thats 1530 cubic feet of dirt (roughly estimating the slope). About 45,900 lbs of soil, one shovel full at a time, :).

Anyways, here are some shitty pictures of the big mommas (each one is 3 1/2 ft tall and 3 and 5 feet diameter) that I will pull some of the clones from (probably about 50-70) :weed:......

The mommas are in 25 gallon pots in a 9'Lx5'Wx6'H box I built, under Super fluorescent ceilings that I made (but still haven't finished...), they need a little better air circulation where they are but other than that they are good. Yeah, those pics are right before they got watered... Purple Kush in foreground, and sensi star in back.... trying to end up pulling 150 clones off each... :)

thanks... though according to my page, I haven't received any rep lately... yes this is a DIY grow.

I took 30 clones last night off of the PK. Can't really even tell I did it unless you look closely. She is doing very well too. I see hundreds and hundreds of clones coming off these mommas. SS has way more nodes, and is actually one month older than the purple Kush. Its a super cold day, so Im not cloning today, maybe tonight with a heater on in low light.... that reminds me, I need to take that heating fan out to my babies... and start a fire, :)

Ok. The Sensi Star Momma has about 350 clones on her right now.... thats more than I planned, because there is still 148 clones on the Purple Kush mother. The sensi star clones would start out larger than the Pk. Im trying to decide if I want to use all of the available sites for clones, or if I want to take what I think I should, and flower out the mothers to make room for new genetics??? the 30 clones I took are doing good ( didn't cut any leaves when I took them, just rooting horomone and a Thrive Alive B1 solution the rockwool cubes were soaked in). I will post pics of the clones once they have rooted... even though none of them may end up going outside. I will probably put them indoors... I am leaning towards putting mostly Sensi Star outside.... not sure yet...

Simply amazing. I hope someday to be able to have something half as intense as you're working on outside. +rep
