hope you dont mind me asking you a question? As a newb Im confused about cutting off the top leaves, i appreciate you are doing this to get light to the lower leaves. so by doing this you promote bushy growth rather than upwards growth? Does that effect the buds?

And how exactly do you do it? I mean where do you cut the leaves and how?

Hi Dude, nice to have you along.
Of course I don't mind questions! I cut out the growing tip - the top one with small sharp scisors. underneath this tip- and the bit you leave ON are two little hairs coming out of the branch. cut the tip but don't damage the hairs. the hairs turn into new tips/branches.
Yes - it "may" affect quality of bud in some way, but I don't care!!!!

The actual leaves themselves - I remove big fan leaf if it's covering up a bud site beneath. I'd rather have light going in there than on the leaf is all.

I just got caught up with your grow mate, and looks like you're doing well, nothing like a little competition to bring out the best in people ;). I'll be following this, I'm looking to use the SC for breeding with different members of the "White" family. Looking to get some sativa qualities into the traditional resin-heavy white indica dominants, while preserving the strawberry taste and aroma. I have it worked out, just need to know some qualities of the SC. Keep the updates flowing mate, happy growing

I was thinking more along the lines of "Great Strawberry Shark" :blsmoke: Haha, should be nice once I cube it a couple times to single out genes, should be a lengthy process

Here is TheNightRider. You will see he has made four main bud sites with his cut.

So he's gonna use the old grow it up and bend it over is he....

Note. Change of light now on mine. 400w 12 hours, 200w 6 hours, 6 hours dark.
I'm interested to know if this will have a significant bearing on beneficial traits in the plants, waining light towards days end. I'm locked in now Bronze if I wasn't before, best of luck

agreed, KC. I'm also doing this for 2 other reasons.
1) stretch the plant - but not too much -as you said before- you liked the internodal spacing on TheNightRiders.
2) save electricity!

as far as i know, thenightrider is not giving his any dark hours. this "may" stress his plant

Veg Week 7.

Pics of mine in a DR80 (80cm X 80cm X 160cm).

I've cut out any growth that i feel will be below the canopy in the final plant. plan is 3 weeks more veg then bend her over, force out the middle for 2 weeks, then flower.
I'm also "working on" a big bud to win the big bud part of the game. I've cut out any and all growth on that one branch to give power to a single bud.

Light regime is 600w 8 Hours, 400 W 4 hours, 4 hours dark, 8 hours 200watts.

Nearly Veg week 8

Before and after shots of TheBronze. I have now bent over all the branches and wired them with rubber coated garden wire to the edge of the pot. I now have the light low to bring out the middle.

Light is now 18/6. metal halide. 400w.

I love the results of that training my man, those side branches are going to be monsters with space to grow out ;). The plants look good, when're you going to flower you think? I would think you'd flower at the end of 8 weeks but maybe 9? Keep up the good work mate, keep the updates coming :blsmoke:

It's all good, thank you KC!

Flower day should be April 1st.

NightRider and myself have noticed we need a LOT of fanning on this strain to get the branches strong. By Fanning I mean, electric fan -in its face 24/7.

Mine now having 200watts for a couple of days.

Nine days to flower ...
