Cool Thx for those tips sub, that was a great episode touching on a bit of everything. I hope that spinosad in the soil does the trick, did you see the size of that beetle sitting on the fan leaf of your kush to the far left. At around 9:30mins

What is that thing anyways, some secret pest control like a lady bug on roids. lol

I've had the same thing happen to me too. My two yorkies got into my clones and chomped away at most of the big fan leaves. I'm planning on growing a small patch of wheat grass in a container for them, so they don't get the temptation to eat my clones again. I also feed them any leaves that I might trim off when I'm clean up the bottom portion of my plants. They really love the fresh cut cannabis leaves thats for sure. Peace, and keep it organic.

The thing I am confused about isn't so much the super soil but the roots soil. In Episode 30 "dude with a big house", i think it was that one, you said the roots soil is hot cuz it isn't quite ready yet at the factory, so it would be good to buy pallet now and later down the road it would be fine. Well if SS takes a few months to 'activate' and the roots needs a few months to chill out, then wouldn't cutting my SS now make my end result not as good, say in 6-8 months?

I trimmed a plant later and put the leaves on a plate and they both ate them. they eat grass sometimes to settle their stomach, so I am not that surprised. Screwy thing is they haven't eaten any plants yet, just today. I think they will live but I heard stress raises male rate in the plants and getting fucking chewed by a shepard is pretty stressful! It'll be something to watch. Now if they get any more, then it's my fault right? lol

there seems to be some conflicting info on just how stable TGA thinks Vortex is. On the one hand you have this from the TGA site.


This is our most stable hybrid and most well received strain. When someone asks which of our strains should I try? I always recommend Vortex.

And in other descriptions for seedbanks:
This strain is offered mainly to collectors who have experienced the high or unique smell of either parent. This is not a strain for someone new to indoor growing or large scale grows looking for big production. It is a strain that with luck you can find a once in a lifetime mom for head stash.

Phenotypes: Large variation with phenotypes like both parent strains

Expect weird mutations and incredibly sticky freaks of nature. This hybrid tends to grow like a vine and need serious tending to achieve decent yields.

This Vortex Phenotype is not a huge yielder, and will not win any beauty contests that's for sure but for someone who has a connoisseur palette the genetic makeup of Vortex makes for some mighty stony, awfully tasty herb

I don't see any conflicting information. Just information. I've grown a clone for 12 years. A clone is the EXACT same plant. If any variables are slightly different the clone behaves different to the point where some may mistake it for different plants. Now add in genetic variation to the mix. Some growers are going to screw up any plants they grow. Others are going to read the strain and adjust. There is no way to get a plant to behave the same way for everyone. ALL of Subs crosses have variation just like most everyone elses. What do you want? It's like you want to go to a car dealer and say, I want you to sell me a car and tell me exactly how many MPG I will get. Never mind that we all drive different. It all depends.

Well I doubt TGA is trying to say that their most stable strain is one with great variations, mainly offered to collectors looking for a one in a lifetime mother, and to expect mutations with it. From my limited experience, qleaner is more stable than vortex. I bet there are other TGA strains that are more consistent, or more stable than vortex.
Vortex does grow pretty much as described, bushy with lots of bud sites, just saying I question it's status as most stable.

well sub has always been very honest in his explanations of strains, so im guessing there was a misunderstanding with the translation in there somewhere.

im sure he will weigh in on the subject. the fact he hasnt commented on it yet leads me to believe that it may be in the next episode, so stay tuned!
