They do have a vaccine that is very helpful against this virus, the mild cases in the USA so far a person could make it through without any medications no problem. They have been very mild flu symptoms. They dont know why the cases in Mexico are much worse than the US. My theory besides the fact they dont have as good of health care and quality of living is that the virus has been there longer and possibly has already mutated some there to be more effective. That is why they have issued a public health emergency they wouldnt have done it for the way the virus is now as its now harmful at all in the us. It's more of a warning a preperation for what the virus could become. It's like the 1918 H1N1 virus went away for like 19 weeks then came back way worse taken out people left and right. Virus are quick to mutate and adapt to be more effective and this virus is actually 4 virus's in one already. It's already spreading rapidly and well it seems. To fast to contain so now all we can do is combat and hope it doesnt become more fatal.

I'm glad I put this thread up...it has sparked some interesting things. How could the avian,human,& 2 strains of swine come together without human intervention? The one thing I've noticed about the sickness & deaths so far that is strange is that many of the 86 dead in Mexico were predominately young healthy individuals about 25 to 40 years old. Most of the people recovering are under 20 or over 40...why is that? Dosen't sit well with me. This is going to be worldwide & in my opinion if it's allowed to mutate further there could be big problems since it's now been proven to be effective spreading from human to human. I hope that there isn't a chance that it could mutate into an airborne form. I think the biggest question we'll face is whether or not we will be able to contain the mutation since it's pretty clear that we're not going to control the spread especially if it's already made it's way around the world which each day provides more evidence that it has.

Antibiotics are for bacterial infections...the flu is a virus.
And antibiotics do not weaken you immune system. I just got impacted wisdom teeth removed, and had to take penicilin, did I weaken my immune system? NO. Did I prevent a possibly horrible infection? Yes.
Humans in general using antibiotics causes bacteria to evolve to become antibiotic resistant, but there is no way around that.

The reason you see the trend in 20-40 yr olds becoming more ill to the virus is the same reason most deaths in the 1918 pandemic was middle age people. The reason is that the H1N1 virus would pretty much make you own Immune system attack your body causing holes and damage in lung tissue allowing fluid to fill your lungs and you would then drown and die. So because this virus would make you own immune system attack your body the strong the immune system you have the worse your going to get. Thats why young and old people was not effected as bad there immune system was not as strong there for it could not do as much damage to your body. I doubt this will get as bad as the 1918 flu and it may not really get much worse than it is now, however then again it may get severe and cause a decent little problem we wont know just have to wait and watch.
As far as the ones of you that believe this is a man made virus that was released, it's possible there is all kinds of possiblities... However I dont think it is, location of origin and the virus itself is not what would be the ideal situation for a human triggered event. It's just another natural flu virus, you people underestimate what a virus can do to ensure that they infect us and do it successfully that is their sole purpose in life and essential to how they survive.

I think this is just more fear mongering. One more thing for the government to "save" us from.
Just two weeks ago, I got a sinus infection that later (always) turns into bronchitis for me. I can afford the necessary antibiotics, but I can't afford to pay a doctor $100 to write me a prescription. So, I just sweat it out of me for 3 days. Covered myself up in as many blankets as possible and I let my fever do all the work.
Funny thing though... I wanted to get high so bad, but can't smoke with bronchitis. So I borrowed my friend's vaporizer. Get this...
Vaping some chronic actually helped me breathe better.

cannabis is usefull for asthma and other respiratory issues it helps open up airways. vaping of course is best. this virus is nothing new they come and go hopefully without doing too much damage. we will see.

the best way to avoid transfer of virus and bacteria is by WASHING YOUR HANDS. You WASH them before touching your mouth, nose, face, or PLANTS, and after you have exposed them to anything that could carry a virus or bacteria.
