a good carbon filter and. quiet fan. with a muffler (i use whisperline). is full proof as long as the plants are in the tent and your temps arent way high, temps above 85f and no carbon filter will hold the stench also high humidity other then that full proof no smell at all, except at harvest when its a bitch trimmen... i hang one plant on a hanger with the tent open and trim sux but only way to keep the smell down

I had a very very bad experience growing in an apartment. The sound of everything running can't be hidden, the smell, even if it's well filtered is so hard to completly hide, and then drying them makes for another problem. You'll have tons of bud being out of the tent to trim, hang, and opening the jars every day to cure. If you have one neighbor who smells it, it could be a police visit, which with a card and legal is ok, but a robbery is the big danger.

Just MHO. Growing anywhere while renting is dangerous compared to growing somewhere that is owned.

Good luck....hope you don't need it!
Sound: Theres tons of ways that you can dappen all sounds from lound equipment... you could build an acoustic box around your inline fan, buy or build a muffler for air outtake, put your flowering chamber in an grow tent for additionnal sound barrier and put a sound board in front of the door.

Smell: A carbon filter with the correct cfm will make the room smell sooo fresh...

Drying: take a day off when evreything is ready to harvest and trim, duck tape the room door so that no air seeps in to the rest of the appartment, build a cheap box around the window so that only the air from the carbon filter is exausted. and place the ready to dry buds in a box... The main thing you shoudl get is a inline fan and a carbon filter big enough to filter the air from that room only.

I've grown in a couple apartments for the past couple years now. From my experience:

It can be extremely sketchy for obvious reasons and reasons already posted here from others. I hope your legal. I grew in NY for a bit illegal and OMG. Every night was extreme paranoia, never knowing when someone could bust through your door and what not.. I had a carbon filter and still the place smelled. I'm now in AZ all legal and what a difference..

I still live and grow in an apartment, but not an apt building, it's actually like little homes all next to each other called apartments.. but what I did is build 5 ft huge duct mufflers for sound.. and go over board for ventilation and smell, got 12 in CAN MAX and Phresh 12in carbon filter..

what I realized is why bull shit around with shit that doesn't get the job done. 100%. Be safe.
