the romney record

some of those construction workers are still out there working two+ years later. and construction workers don't build highways and bridges with their bare hands, materials and supplies are involved.

plus, when you're all done, you have a wider highway or bridge to show for it :dunce:. i routinely sit in traffic way less since they widened the highway. that means less gas wasted, less money wasted, for every single resident who uses that highway. not to mention the businesses that move goods and services over that highway not having to waste as much gas and money.

win win.
Less gas = leff federal income from gas tax, than they have to look elsewhere for the money ie, your pocket my pocket. This admin has gone way over board with road construction. Also you might want to look at it another way. Contractors that are used to build these roads are not audited for using illeagal workers. Here in Texas the State, not the Feds, raid the sites all the time and then the project sits there until they restaff. For an admin that has imposed more regulation than any other we fall very short on oversite of gov spent money.

so where have they tried to raise taxes to make up the difference? the only tax hikes during this administration were on cigarettes and tanning booths. so go ahead and sound false alarms elsewhere, chicken little

now, let's talk about the romney record.

romney did not raise taxes, but he raised the cost of everything else that hurts the average american. a millionaire like romney might not bat an eye at registering his wife's multiple cadillacs, but it is a tough cost for the working poor like me to put together several hundred dollars every couple of years. he raised fees on everything of that nature, balancing the budget on the backs of the middle class and working poor in massachusetts.

and romney has proposed tariffs on goods from china, which is an effective tax increase on anyone who buys chinese goods, which is basically 99% of the population.

want to pay more for everything you buy and every service you pay a fee for? vote romney.

Romney will win, it is just such a waste of time to even discuss any other option. The Pres has done nothing, forigen policy is the only good thing his admin has to offer up but now (close to election time) the Russians are knocking him down. The Syria thing will be the only fp the media will talk about from now to election time and he is not going to strike Syria as long as Putin does not give in. The Russians have a port there with war ships, no way we even think about sending in Air Strikes.

The Pres is done, these are his last few months in office. He tried and he had his chance the first two years but did nothing. The health care thing will die in the Supreme Court and he will be left with nothing. I respect the guy but time is up.

Quit whining, the cold war is over, we aren't going to invade Russia.

there we go. let's keep this focused on the inept staff of willard, who did not even prepare him to answer the most obvious question schieffer would ask him. same guy who refuses to go into specifics about any of his policy positions or proposals.

do you support the lilly ledbetter act? we'll get back to you on that.

In other words, try to keep the focus off of the community organizer.
read the thread title. what does it say? :dunce:

you want an obama thread, start one of those.

this thread is meant to focus on the romney record of governance, which was #1 in debt and #47 in job creation while putting effective tax increases on the backs of every single resident of that state, especially those least able to afford them.

Unlike some people, I can respect that a person starts a thread for a certain subject. Not saying you have a problem with this, but he didn't want me changing the subject, even if he agrees.

It's all good though, I don't need to juxtapose Romney with Obama just to make a fool of him, although it absolutely helps. Watch me and UB still toy with the republitards even with a handicap.

so you're in a crucial swing state, you have some connection to the medical cannabis deal, and you're willing to risk practical consequences to tell pat buchanan that you love the way his ass looks in the morning?

that's funny.
