Hey fellow RIU community!

Two months after the bountiful harvest of my first grow, it's time for my second grow!

If you haven't visited my first grow journal, check it out here. Last time I had total of six plants (3 Purple Kush and 3 Dream Star) under 8 x 4' T5 (432W) for Veg and a 400W HPS CoolTube along with those T5 for Flowering, and I ended up harvesting over 4 lbs wet (14+ oz dry). Some of the buds are still in my mason jars curing and both the quality and quantity exceeded my expectations.

For my second grow, I decided to grow 3 Sour Diesel (Sativa) and 3 God's Gift (Indica) in FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil with 33% Perlite and ground dolomite lime mixed in. I am using smaller pots this time because the girl's roots did not reach the bottom or sides of the 1' square pot last time. No reason to waste the bag soil. I was very happy with the FF nutes, so I think I'm going to stick with that unless you guys have better opinion... Lighting will be pretty much the same. I may or may not replace the T5 fixtures with another 400W HPS later. I'm vegging under 20/4 this time instead of 24/0.

Day 1!!!

GAWD, looking at those beautiful little green creatures reminds me how much I missed peeking into this super-bright grow tent and sleeping with the sound of the exhaust fan!

Happy growing,
Japonicus

Today, I set up my first DWC bucket system (3 gal) and transplanted two plants from soil to DWC. Depending on how they do, I may add two more buckets. Till then, I will report the side-by-side comparison between DWC and soil. For nutes, I'm using SensiGrow A & B by AN. I visited and called quite a few local hydro stores and garden centers for a handful of hydroton instead of the huge 10 L bag. I was lucky enough to get a opened bag of hydroton just enough for 4 or 5 baskets for free at a hydro store after a few hours of searching . Hooray!

This is the beginning of my hydro legacy...

Cheers,
Japonicus
