Looking good man so you keeping em potted up or you putting em in the ground at a later date cos id bet they get big there lol?
I’ve been bringing them into the shed each afternoon and then into a tent with no lights.

They’re getting just over 10 hours of light and most days the daytime temperature is around 25c.
I’d say they’ll be big too mate as I’ve been doing this close to a month and have only got pre flowers…

The Highland Thai likes to stretch. Not a good candidate for growing in a tent without some serious training. I supercropped numerous times but they just straightened back up. I guess I should have tied them down. Pretty gangly looking plants but I'm just doing a seed run so as long as that gets accomplished I'll be happy and it looks like I'll get that done. Then I can collect a bunch of seeds, scratch this off my list and on to another landrace reproduction run. The Malawi I'm going to cross with is much more manageable and cooperative in the tent.

Yeah he got away from me. I should have got them in the flower tent sooner. Fortunately that male is about to drop pollen so I'm going to cut the tops and put them in some water and let the pollen drop. It's past the light and almost to the roof of the tent. I'm going to have to supercrop and tie down the female after I pollinate it.

The Sinai updates stop here.
Some filthy cunt, probably kids, decided they wanted not just the Sinai, but my whole crop.

Cut a hole in the neighbours fence and gone..

Gutted to say the least and I was relying on this crop to tie me over for the next indoor, which I haven’t even started.

Worst still the Sinai was pollinated and there was a c99xduban Thai which was my last seed and was phenomenal.

There’s probably a silver lining somewhere but I’ll be fucked if I can see it.

Bully Kutta is what you want to guard your garden. Some get as large as 200lbs. Average male is 150lbs-170lbs.The fucking hate strangers. Theyll eat a Tibetans Mastiffs lunch. Theyre super athletic for such a large breed.

I hate a fucking thief. You put out all the efffort, and time, only to have some motherfucker steal your stuff. Whomever needs a broom handle broken off up their ass. That happened to a rat in my town back in the late 70s, and the guy left town, and never came back. Im sure it had to have done some permanent damage.

One of the Highland Thai males is showing hermie traits. I'm still going to use some of the pollen on a couple buds and then keep those labeled and separated from the rest. Some may say "Kill it" but I'm doing a reproduction run to preserve the genetics so I'm going to keep some seeds made with the pollen from this male/hermie as well. I just don't want the seeds mixed in with the rest. Although, it's likely that this trait will surface in the future from seeds made with pollen from the males showing as true males.

Also the female inflorescences are only showing on one branch. The rest of the plant is male at least so far. It will be interesting to see how it develops and if the entire plant turns this way. I'll also let it pollinate itself and keep those seeds as well. For what I don't know but I'll have them.

In a preservation situation it will Still work fine it just means more work for you as you already know cos when you grow out the progeny in bigger numbers you gonna have to select harder against intersex traits but as you say still worth it especially if its something you like imo

I understand what you're saying but if I were to try and eliminate any hermaphroditic tendencies I wouldn't be preserving the genetics as they are. I'm saving strains in as pure a form as I can. If it herms then I want that as well. I'm not going to be working it out for specific traits on this seed run because that's not my goal. My goal is to save it as is. I'm actually glad that one of them did show intersex traits.

Also, the seeds from RSC are second generation reproduced outside of Thailand and open pollinated so having a plant show intersex traits leads me to believe it hasn't been mucked up and selectively bred. And the seeds I produce will be the same as the seeds I started with as I'm basically doing an open pollination as well. I'm just isolating the male pollen from this plant and using it selectively on the plant so I can keep them seperate from the ones made using the pollen from the other males that are not showing intersex traits.

I do find it interesting the way it changed on that one branch after It had been showing male for quite awhile. Usually it's the females that start showing balls. Not males showing pistils. But I have seen it before. And who knows, what comes from those seeds may not have the tendency. I may never find out but whoever ends up with my collection might some day. :leaf:

I've done something similar to what you did a while back but with the Mango Thai.

https://therealseedcompany.com/product/mango-thai-landrace-strain-cannabis-seeds/

iirc both the males I got that I used ended up looking like yours in your previous post, very heavy hermaphroditism. Got a large quantity of great seeds out of it all too. The female was gorgeous and smelled amazing (the darker pheno described on the website). And even though I didn't let her finish as long as I should have the smoke still got me so high. Nice smoke too.

What to try next? The Kumoani? The Rasoli?
