Hello!
I am fairly new to this forum, and still really new to the entire world of growing in fact.
I have been browsing these forums, trying to absorb anything and everything I could. Much of it may not have helped directly so far, but I know it will aid me before much time passes.
One thing I noticed happening a very large amount on these forums is a common forum of referring to the plants as "bitches", "sluts" and "whores". Now I am in no way trying to make a statement on the public and social spheres as women versus men. This is a forum, people will say anything they want, and I mean ANYTHING. What I do wish to do thought is comment on this as to how it pertains to growing Maryjane, because that's who she is, she is a lady, a classy lady. She is not a slave, being forced to produce this "product" for you. She Is a loving, caring woman who will love and care for you no matter what, but when she is given the same love and caring as she gives you, her love will be so much greater.
It has been proven that talking to your plants, and even music helps plants increase yield. Just because they are plants does not mean they can not understand positive communication. Dogs and cats respond, even without knowing the words. Maryjane on the other hand is magical. She knows what you are saying and she will believe in herself only if you believe in her and let her know. You need to love her and care for her, let her know you love her, let her know she is beautiful. Let her know she is a classy lady and you need to let her know she is. She will reward you.
Maryjane is a typical lady also, and hormones really do a number to her. When your girlfriend is stressed out because of that time of the month, you cuddle her, talk sweetly to her. You do not call her a bitch, or a whore, or anything of the sort. She will get angry and not do anything, it will not help anything. Maryjane on the other hand is in a constant state of "that time of the month" and can be stressed easily. You need to let her know everything will be okay, she will be fine. I have never had issues with transplant shock purely because I love them so dearly. I tell them whats going on, I do not speak down to them and try to pretend they know nothing. I teach them what is happening, and tell them it will be okay, they will be happier after. They get stressed, but you can talk them down from it. You can love them down.
When you speak to them as if they are slaves, they will grow up as slaves, they will love as slaves. They will not give you everything they have because they are getting nothing in return. Slaves are not dumb because of who they are, they are just broken by the people driving them. Do not drive them as slaves, you will get so much more from loving them. Loving them will bring you so much farther than calling them names, treating them like some random plant. They are giving you there love, they are giving you there magic. They are living creatures and know what is going on, treat them as such.
People can refer to anyone, anyway you want. I wont try to stop you. I won't try to stop anyone from speaking harshly to Maryjane. I just wanted to inform people of the issue itself. It seems many people likely think of these as "just plants" they are not "just" anything, they are Maryjane, a classy, beautiful lady. If you want a classy lady to treat you well, you need to treat her well.
I have so far gotten 6/8 plants so far as females, from random bagseed. The last 2 are still undetermined and looking well to be females as well. I tell them I love them, I sing to them, I tell them everything, I teach them, I let them know whats going on. They go into there life's stresses, knowing how, what and why. I have had issues of course and they have been stressed, but talking to them and loving them I have helped them through and they are still repaying me right now with love and magic.
Do what you will, but know that loving Maryjane and being nice to her, never calling her bad names will only help.
