The paper clip method

is it easier than it looks? I don't want to break my stems. I don't even know what age to start paper clipping them into the soil. My plants are only 8 days old, but sativa gets tall, and I don't have the space.

yea its easier than it looks... and it looks easy... kind of... the palnts bend very well and will adapt to their new position in a day or so.

At what age of the plant should I start doing this? They are still in the early stages, but I would like the info ^_^:peace:

Its all personal preferance. I like to let my plant get kind of tall, at least a foot and than bend it, this way there are a bunch of buds all on the same level.
unimployment dude just got a question. when you do it at the 3rd node dosnt the top cola just grow up? or do you keep training it after that or what?

I make a spiral man. It goes all around the pot. I just do this with the mothers. This way my internodes get more light, allowing my to produce more clones :D

hoho... I;ve been thinking about trying a spiral but it looked to confusing... so I stayed away...

This sounds like an easy method of LST so i think i will give it a try when my seeds arrive. Just one quick question tho, what does FIM stand for?

It said to start this method after you have FIM, pinched or topped your plants. So I know what topping is, I'm not exactly sure what they mean by 'pinch' and i've never heard of FIM before. WTF are they talking about?

f...uck

m..issed

it's when people top way to early. they get right down into the very tip top of the plant and clip it. it creats a fully open surface that new branching shoots out of. i've had up to 8 new tops pop out at once after "fimming".

Ah, you learn something everyday ^_^.

3 nods eh? Then I still have a wait.

This is truly wonderful. My temporary grow space is going to now have a home <3.

Where on the plant do you bend? Does it matter? I understand the "spiral" concept, but are there anyothers? Tckfui, how do you bed yours? I keep thinking if I clip them down and not in a spiral fashion then they will just grow vertically over the pot?

do I push the paperclips into the dirt? how far?

I need to know as much about this as possible lol. Suprisingly, it's crucial for mah grow. *nods*

push the paper clip into the dirt. it's basically a stake with a hook on the end. i poke holes in the top edge of my pots and use some thin stainless steel wire. i have a roll of it.

you can bend anywhere in anyway at anytime. as long as you don't crack the stem doing it.:blsmoke:

Nice.

I have an attic with a ceiling quite low to the ground......it can't be more than 3 or 4 feet high. It's perfect. I can put my CFL tubes in there, there is excellent ventilation.

The only thing I was worrying about was the damn height of my sativa. But nevermind it's a thing of the past ^_^

Thank you rollitup!

Thank you mah rollitup colleagues!

ohhh he sayd the C word!!!
looks like some nice bending going on there... going to try this spiral technique
