I just started a grow with the full H & G line including Amino treatment, and I see a huge difference from my previous grow without the amino treatment. It almost looks like the plant is forming a wall around the stem, which is much thicker at this early stage than i've noticed in the past. Aside from that, H & G is providing great results as usual with fast growth and real nice looking foliage. Some people say its too expensive, but I find H & G to be in the lower price range for high end nutrients, and they're worth the extra money spent as none of the prior nutrient lines i've used (which isn't that many) were so easy to apply. H & G really has things down to a science, where you can actually follow the feed chart without burning plants. Just my opinion

That really depends on the method of growing. My UCDWC cannot take anything more than 60% base and 80-100% on the additives. My girls got burnt real bad when I followed the schedule. If I just use a lower proportion it works out much better. Less is more in some cases.

Another thing I have noticed that really just pertains to DWC is that I cannot add the entire week's nutes all at once. I have to add 25% on Day 1 and then another 25% on Day 3 and so on until I feel they are good. I think this is really only applicable if you are growing in DWC because the plants don't get a break from the nutrient solution, they are in it 24/7 so an entire week's worth of nutes burnt my girls. I kind of relate it to watering with soil, you can't put all of the week's nutes in the first watering and then just water with pure water for the rest of the week and then expect the plant not to get burnt. Just my two cents.

I just feel like this is a very smart way to apply nutrients in any hydroponic system. It's just like cooking, you don't add more salt until you've tasted it.

Thanks, I also enjoy cooking. Maybe that's where I got the idea from. Wherever it came from it seems to be working very well.

I too use their whole line up minus the Nitrogen Boost... The Amino treatment is too fucking expensive, I like it and all but are any of you H&G users cutting the dosage in half or are you using it as the nutrient calculator says?? I love the stuff but I dont like buying the 70.00 bottles, I probably go through 4-5 of them per grow. Using their line can be real expensive but if you want connoisseur quality from a synthetic nute brand go with H&G. I'm just a hobby grower with a real job so I can afford it but man it does get expensive. This is the only nute brand in which you can follow their nutrient calculator and never get nute burn! I used GH for my first few years of growing and then was turned on to House and Garden.. I havent looked back, I cant even try another nute brand because H&G is so fucking great, and I want to try a couple more lines out!

I have been a h&g user for over a year now and it is great stuff. I use the whole line. If you want hydro weight and organic flavor...h&g can get it done...I'm in coco but using the rest of my aqua flakes.

Hey guy I read through the 100+ page of this thread and i learned quite a few tips! Ive been using H&G for 2 years now. I havent used the amino treatment or the nitrogen boost. H&G products are top of the the line tho!! I was low on cash this run and the guy at the hydro shop got me to try GH root product. (i forget the name and just ran out.) It does work quite well. Is it better than H&G root excel ...i dunno bout that!
SO i got a question for you guy.
Im growing in 75% Coco 25% FFOF
In ALL my past grows I flush for 3-5 day using PHed water with drip clean. On H&G website it says to flush with plain water.
So do you guys you drip clean during your flush?

No, I used Drip Clean during my entire run but not during the flush. I just used PH'd R/O water to flush.

I did on my grow last year, this last grow ( chopping tonight ) I didint though.. Drip clean is good shit, I never flush between feedings or get build up on my drip lines and I never have to worry about PH lock out... You want yield?? Go with AN you want connoisseur status ?? Go with House and Garden !

H&G all the way !
I had a lot of cattails on my last grow. It was my first time using SHOOTING POWDER & wonder if that may have been the cause, I know it really caused explosive bud growth. Finally weighed my last grow. Over 36 oz yield out of 53 sq ft !

The shooting powder is bad ass. Makes the buds super fat in a matter of days.

No but I always pre charge my coco with cal/mag before I use it, because if you grow coco you know they like to suck up cal/mag and show deficiency right away.
I have found that H&G bases have a ton of calmag like 14%Ca, so as long as you charge the coco with nutes you should be fine. I usually add 3-5mL/gal and then drop down to no calmag at wk5

I gotta stick around this thread. I dont think I will be switching to any other nutes in the near future. I feel " dialed in " with H&G.. My only bitch is the god damn PH buffers I go through a lot of PH up. After adding A & B my PH is like 3.2 .. I should probably start to use a stronger PH up.

Anyone try the H&G coco coir? I havent only one store carries it here. I been using Canna.

Is anyone using the Amino Acid as per the nutrient chart?? I am and its fucking expensive.

Couldn't afford the Amino Treatment at the time so I went with X Nutrients amino supplement. It's okay. Thats weird about your Ph beavr, as soon as I throw my base nutes in, I swear, sometimes that shit comes pretty damn close to 5.6 and I'm using RO water. I'm a big soil guy but wanted to try hydro so I ran a single bucket DWC using H&G and its pretty damn impressive.
