The need for UVB

So I have read a thread or 2 like this in the Advanced Cultivation forum, but considering the concept is not all that advanced, I figured this would be just as good a forum to talk about it, and wanted to get the opinions/experiences from you organic guys on this
Now I have been doing a seemingly endless amount of reading, research, and asking questions regarding this, and would like to open it up to discussion
So its a pretty well know fact the cannabis grown outside will ALWAYS thrive more and grow much larger/produce better yield than that grown indoors. But why? People spend hundreds, even thousands of $ on op set ups, just to find that they cannot produce the same indoors as outdoors. Regardless of whether you use MH, HPS, CFL's, LED's, etc, theres just no comparison to real sunlight. Why? You could put a 1000w HPS on 1 plant with perfect conditions and nutrients and medium and everything, and not produce what you could off of the same plant if raised on good old fashioned sunlight.
Why? Well, it is my beliefe that it is simply because of the lack of spectrum....think about it, what single light gives you a REAL full spectrum? None whatsoever can accomplish this task.
And you may say "Oh, well, my LED's emit only the light thats absorbed by the plant, so its perfect for growing". WRONG
Yes, your plants need light in the blue spectrum to thrive during veg. Yes, your plants need light in the red spectrum to thrive during flower. But do you really believe thats all the light they need to truly thrive? Why is it that cannabis(and all other plants for that matter) do so well in sunlight? Its all about getting a full, well rounded spectrum of light, as well as loads of UVB light. Thats the only factor that gets left out when growing indoors, so it would make sense that this would be the main limiting factor to growing indoors.
Solution? The only way I can think that you could come close to mimicking sunlight would be a combination of lighting, such as using MH, HPS, and UVB lights all together for flower to maximize yield and quality.
Now I know this all is not news to most people here, I am just interested to get opinions of others. What Im really hoping to see is someone else who maybe had these same ideas and decided to test them using several different growspaces with the same strain of mj but all using different lighting combinations.
Any opinions/comments/corrections would be greatly appreciated. I dont pretend to be a genius or a scientist or a veteran grower. I am a rookie grower who just happens to have a boner for science:mrgreen:

Thank you man, I was hoping someone would know a bit in this area
I got a couple 10.0 UVB's that I use for my many lizards (I have a zoo in my house) that Im hoping to integrate into my grow room, which is currently HPS and CFL's
Any tips you can give? Will the 10.0's burn my plants? I have heard you have to be careful using UVB because it can fry your plants, although I know from using them on lizards that they dont really get all that hot. ALso, how far from them do you put your UVB's from your ladies? And I had the understanding that the ammount of UVB light emitted by UVB's degenerates exponentially after like 6 months. Have you noticed anything to this effect?
Thanks again man

I dono if you guys know this but htg supply has bulbs that they call "metal sodium" that are dual arc tubes aka like two different color lights inside one bulb. and its mh on half and hps on the other half. theyre only like 95 bucks, so its a pretty damn good deal for a light you can use all the way through. dont know about uvb, but it does have a good spectrum.

Check it

Hope this helps,

Its a similar concept as nutrients. Your plant needs mainly NPK, but that doesn't mean it needs just that, or does better with just that. Thats organic is the best, you get natural sources of all the other micronutrients.

Do mh or hps put off a good enough uvb spectrum to be useful or do you have to get a really low spectrum uvb light to make it effective? Because I think i'm going to get one of those dual arc lights from htg so if that has uvb i will be set...:weed:

i ended up supplimenting some UV light into my grow and apperiance wise they are porducing more trics.

the other day i crudely dried out one of my Mexican bag seed sativas and i was fucked up. more then without the suplimentation.

i can only dose the uv light on the days i am home and its a powerful fishtank uv light i do it for about and hour evey 3 days.

my theory is once the plant realises it is being stress from the uv it will produce more trichs reguardless how that amount of time you use it.

so that means it is not nesessary for everyday growth
