The name is ChronicHydro and i'm happy to say that I started my 1st grow experience.

So where do i start?..... I was introduced to Mry at a very young age:weed:bongsmilie and ever since then i've been hypnotizedo_Oo_O lol. This is the strat to my journey and I welcome any and all to help me with this adventure. Advice and criticism is highly encouraged as im very new to this and other than google I don't really have an outlet where I can get pointers on my specific situations as they happen.

So roll that blunt! Pack that bong! Light that spliff chill out and enjoy!!bongsmilie:bigjoint::joint:

As of now I have 4 seedlings. I don't know the strains or the sex as they are random and collected overtime. I'm still learning but as far as I know they are still too young to be sexed, but if i'm wrong or as they progress your seeing something i'm not, you are more then welcome to give me input.:clap: TWO are 10 days old PLANT A and B(potted on 02/08) The Third is 3 days old Plant C(potted on 02/19/20) and the 4th Plant D was potted yesterday(02/20/20)

I am using these seedlings as testers for my grow, I have some feminized ordered and should be here in couple weeks. In the meantime I will be able to set my perimeters up to a small margin allowing my timers and sensors to do the heavy lifting and allowing me peace of mind knowing it's all accurate. That being said I fully intend to grow them to their full potential or as best as I can.

IMG_8824.JPG

I'm only currently running one but I do have two others on stand by, as the picture above shows it replaces a 1000 Watt HPS. I think I will end up running a test to see if this is ture or not but here is what I do understand..:idea::idea: Seedling shouldn't hit anything over 10,000 lux, so here is where mine is at.

IMG_8827.JPG

so as you see im roughly at 7500 Lux

I have a small heater on the far right side which is hooked up to a temperature/humidity sensors. The controller allows for accurate and consistent conditions, it also don't hurt not having to worry about them!!:-D:-D

Below is the heater that keeps consistent temperatures, also in the above picture you can see the temperature probe right next to the lux meter for my controller which commends the heater.
IMG_8836.JPG

Below is a humidity sensor that is also working for my controller:hump::clap::clap:
IMG_8834.JPG

So I am keeping the "grow box" between 75*F and 80*F with a 3 degree of set.
The humidity is the actually humidity in the room itself roughly 380 cubic feet(cf³) and as you can see its around 50 RH
I plan on using the whole room eventually so I figured I might as well get that set up now!!
IMG_8831.JPG

so next are the plants as they are

This is A

So A and B were kind of a spontaneous out of the nowhere and I ended up using a buddy's nutrients and turns out they might of went bad. It's the sensi grow part A and B and they were over 2 years old. I have since replanted them in new coco growing medium. I've bought a new set of sensi grow coco part A and B. I've not added anymore nut's after I realized what the problem was. As you can see there is a little curl on the left leaf and i'm assuming it might have something to do with the nut's being expired.
Plant B got the brunt of the burn as you will see in the next pic
IMG_8838.JPG

So next pic is plant C and she/he is not doing so well, from what i understand this is a case of toxicity, if i was to guess with would be the bad nut's, like I said it's been replanted in new COCO. I did not buffer the coco like I have read, seeing as the advanced nutrients will supposedly control that.

IMG_8856.JPG

D is still in the COCO and ill post pics as soon as it starts to show

Thats is for now, if you have managed to get this far down? Thank you, if you have any questions or comments please let me know im all ways ready to learn something!!!

I have a PPM and PH tester coming in but can anyone tell me wich one they use and how its been working for them that
also if anyone is using the same nutrients as me (sensi grow coco) please let me know how your experience was!?!

Thank you and stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!

oooo and almost forgot!! last but definitely not least is C and hopefully "SHE" is just a baby as of now!!

Well you've got the fancy kit. I'll tag along
We will need a lot more information from ya! First question...what brand of soil mix are you using?? First suggestion...get yourself some cheap General Hydroponics pH test drops!
Sounds fun I’ll hang around!

I use Bluelab Ph pen & Bluelab CF/PPM truncheon in my hydro setup but when I used to run cocoa drain to waste I didnt worry about checking PPM just mixed my nutes they way they say on the side of the bottle & always had very good results, but Ive always run Canna nutes.

Hey Thanks I really appreciate the help!!!!

today i received my PH and PPM pens and they ended up being very bad paper weights >:(>:(

I will post pics of them sometime tomorrow!! so I will end up going with the expensive side and just get BlueLab but in the meantime i will be getting PH drops like you mentioned!!

for your other question... i'm using FoxFarm Bush Doctor Coco Loco Potting Mix and like i said i did not buffer prior to planting!!!

Today I ended up getting my PMMs PH pens and i'm very disappointed. I bought calibration fluid, 342 PPM to be spacific. I go to test the pen it barely hits 100...:wall: soo i try and calibrate it and come to finds out, it can't be calibrated.... there is only a setting that lets you move it up or down in increments of 5.

The PH pen didn't end any better... i went ahead and calibrated for 4.01ph and 6.85ph after calibration it would be off buy .80ph to 1.0ph..
this is how i ran the calibration.. I drop it in 6.85 wait for it to settle then hold calibrate, wash with distilled water and repeat .. it was of by a significant amount each time... and that's about 15 different calibrations. They are getting returned!!

Yes I loath pH pens and probes for the most part! I went back to old school General Hydroponics pH drops, because unless you are mixing a huge reservoir that you need to monitor on the regular, pH pens are useless to small time hobbyists (my opinion). With Coco Coir you should be pretty much guaranteed a neutral pH of the medium! Sorry to hear you got skunked on the pen same as I have, (I had to learn my lesson twice)! I hear the $200 models work just fine , however I don’t care nor need one.

Bluelab ph pen is $100NZD, NZD being a fraction of any other countries $ so probably $80USD. Easy to calibrate. Never going to be as cheap as the drops or papers but papers & drops are a hassle & a good quality pen is always going to be as accurate as it needs to be convenient enough to put up with having to calibrate & change batteries once & a while. I keep a bottle of drops just to compare with the pen every now & then for peace of mind.

As for the tds meter I could be wrong but I dont think its the right one for the job either. Maybe thats for pools & spas & not hydroponics? Might be the same thing but I dont think so. Either way, in my opinion PPM/EC dosnt really matter when growing in a drain to waste setup such as yours. Just follow the mixing ratio on the side of the bottle of whatever nutrients your using.
