7 gal smarty, Hindu skunk ( hindu kush dom) from seed Day 8 of flower. Each branch has been growing like a minora. I had to bend the middle top using stakes chop stick style. It was 8 inches taller than the rest of the tops. For yield this is the strain. I got 2 zips off a 12/12 from seed in a 3 gal with same strain.

How's that Vermifire working out? You suppose it has better vermicompost in it or just more of it as a % ?

so far so good, i think the overall quality is real good, a few more weeks and i will be testing the SS made from it, but so far the base is killer....my plants are extremely healthy..

Hyroot, thanks for these pics... Nice example of keeping the unruly girls in line as they stretch.

Can wait until I have more time to try main lining. I usually just top and supercrop in a unorderly fashion . with the size of my room this would be perfect.

I'm checking for understanding of optimal pot size for an indoor grow from the context of root development;

Seedling stage (21 days or so): 1 quart container?

Veg stage (5 weeks or so): 1gal? or 2gal?

Flower stage: consensus seems to be 7gal smart pots? I have some 20 liter air pots (the plastic egg crate ones with holes for air pruning). Any thoughts, experience with these?

TIA nerds....

nevermind... Went back through my notes and found the recommended sizes. Still curious about the air pots though.

Looks like she is going to pull through just fine. Can't wait to see! Well that shot in the dark might have worked. Lol.

Nug's I have a question for ya. Below is a picture of my best mainline attempt yet on the JTR pheno AOS. I have been practicing on clones I didnt need and seeing this one turned out so well I kept her. She is under a 4 bulb T5 (2 red, 2 blue) and I am going to try flowering her in that environment.

Here's the question. She is currently set for 8 heads. I was wondering if I should go to 16 or stay at 8. The ends are just now reaching the edge and are days away from where I would start training her upwards. Should I go for 16 now or just let her go at 8?

Thanx :)

it looks like she could handle a prune for 16, she has plenty of space for it......it depends on what you have for vertical space, a 16 will stay much shorter overall than an 8....looks like you have a Mg def.....you should make sure your PH is good, and hit her with some epsom salts, and some liquid Cal/Mg......

She was under a 300w LED until last week when I moved the LED out and the T5 in. I assumed the LED burned her because it was to close and she is just recovering. Does that still look like a mg def to u? The dirt/super soil or water hasn't changed.

As for going 16, would u have pruned already or have waited till now?

no, i would prune her right about now......looks like Mg def. to me.....light burning is always on the very top cola leaves, and it is more of a "bleaching"......notice how the leaves half way up the plant are fading from the outside leaf margins inward, leaving the veins green....Mg....a good epsom dose per label instructions should get her moving in the right direction.

I have heard that LED growers are using more Mg than with HID. When LEDs burn they do not bleach. I have seen almost all LED grows go through a burn phase because they think they need to get their light close to the plant (including me). I fried my young plant with my LED and she recovered when I put her under the CFLs. I am still not sure where I should place my LED distance-wise, but I think I may get a deep purple Kessil for vegging and switch to the magenta in 12/12. It did not help that my pH was 8 either. She liked it when I got a pH meter and dialed her in.

Now I need to get a chiller for my res or go SS indoors. Heat rotted my roots last winter. Will mainline this time and flip sooner. My LED may not be able to sustain a huge bush. Think I will try some Jillybean indoor this winter. I can then take some clones and plant them in summer :)
