The journey

So I'm looking into growing some Mary Jane, been reading a ton on this site among others. I had 2 seeds that looked promising, so I germinated them, didn't have a problem with one of them, but the other one has yet to pop open, I've pretty much lost hope in it, not a problem, this is just a test. Anyway, I planted the seed that did pop open in a 6" pot of miracle grow and have been watering it daily, making sure it keeps moist, for the past week...but it hasn't poped out of the soil yet. I put a lamp on it at 100 watts about 6 inches above the pot...maybe this is the problem? I'm not sure, does anyone have any information that may help my situation? I can't really find much on the sprouting phase of growing, light/no light...how much water to use right off the bat? Thanks again!

Hey im not an expert but i just started some plants and i germinated like 20 seeds and only like 14 came out n then after i planted them only 11 sprouted n grew... but im pretty sure the other 3 didn't caz my stoner b/f knocked them over like a dumbass n i think the seeds fell out n he didn't see them lol but from what i know i got them 18 hrs. of light n 6 off then when they're ready to bud 12 on 12 off n water them once then when the dirt is basically dry water them again so every couple days and one last thing make sure u have some drain holes on the bottom

I think it might not have popped up because maybe your watering them to much. also, keep the light on it. the seed will try to find it soon.

heyt im a noob to this, but everyone says give it one good watering the first day and dont water again unitl you stick your finger 2 inches down and its dry. also the plants wont need light until they pop above the soil. peace.

the plant does need light. how can it tell which way to come out of the soil (it eventaully does, but it takes longer). padawan, next time you put them into the soil, try not to put them in so deep. it is taking forever for them to find the light. next time put them in the soil like 2 seeds deep.

1st - throw seeds in a cup of water...if they sink they are GOOD if they float they are BAD
2nd - take a couple sheets of paper towel and wet them..cut a big enough piece of tin foil to cover the paper towel...
3rd - place the paper towel on the foil...place all seeds on one side on top of the paper towel
4th- fold both the foil and paper towel in 1/2 and seal the edges
5th - place under a heat source ( i use the same light as my clones) in a couple of days the seeds will germ and sprouts will form
6th - plant the sprout down in soil mix and watch em grow
GOOD LUCK
