What do you mean by significant ? The daily murdered and raped think they are important .

.According to the people I spoke to the attitude generally is "Meh nothing is worth getting blown up for" And "world peace is none of our business ." Tolerance and multikulturalism have taken its toll and is slowly falling out of fashion probably to late .

The jihad will never end and the enemy is behind the gates and the governments and media tell the world daily Islam is not the problem . Dont want to hurt anyones feelings .
The March, 2011, Harper‘s Index noted:

Number of American civilians who died worldwide in terrorist attacks last year: 8 — Minimum number who died after being struck by lightning: 29.

I say we declare a war on lightning.

“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine. ”

~Thomas Jefferson
Umm, he didn't say that
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/14/AR2007081401703_pf.html

It is a word designed to rile, implying as it does that the people are not only (a) stupid, but (b) stupid in a collective cow-herd sense. (Americans would always rather be stupid in an independent way. It's a rugged-individualism thing.)

Perhaps proving this very cow-herdedness, however, many have tried to suggest our system of government is all mobbed up by brandishing a Thomas Jefferson quote: "A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine."

Sorry, guys. The esteemed founder never said it. The folks at Monticello's research library witheringly say that old saw has been dogging him for years.

Earliest known appearance in print:
2004[1][2]

Other attributions: None known.

Status: We currently have no evidence to confirm that Thomas Jefferson ever said or wrote, "Democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51% of the people may take away the rights of the other 49%" or any of its listed variations. We do not know the source of this statement's attribution to Thomas Jefferson.

I don't think we have a disagreement on commercial fishing. But yeah, we can leave it at that. .
Not implying that. Something I always hate is when I express a desire to dive someplace and another diver pisses on that by saying there is something wrong with the place. At the same time though it is good to be aware of these things.

That money corruption power matrix has been around since fluff was a kitten and it isnt going away . There in no political system that is free of the scourge of human nature . The best the people can hope for is equal justice under the law .Warning , we do not have a justice system we have a legal system .
