The Grow II (Shining Silver Haze) W/LED Illuminator- Soil to Dwc Grow

Here we go...
This is my second grow! First was in Soil pushing Early Girl. That was a serious headache, but a learned!!! I've been skankin around RIU for a moment and decide to germinate these SSH feminised seeds I've been harboring for the last 2 years. I figured I'll try 2 if 1 of them germinate I'll bubble her! Much to my surprise they both popped up and so true to a Marines word I'm bubbling them!!
In my infinite wisdom (or lack or) I decided to try a 2 phase bubbler setup. I figured it's easier for me to stay perpetual this way as opposed to depending on one setup for veg and flowering.
So I'm starting in soil since I didn't have all hydro materials. And finding what i need in this" effin" country is like pulling teeth!! Anyway germination was around the 14th of this month. today i took them out of th dirt setups and placed them into their stage 1 bubbler setup. Once they are ready to get scrogged and bent , then I'll move them into the larger phase 2 which will give more room for the roots.

Setup includes:
Stage 1
x1 41 liter container
300 liter/hr air pump (yeah I think it's big for 41 liters too but hey!)
Adv Nutrients Sensi Grow A+B - B52
Water!! Thats it!

Now dude check this out my pH was totally off the charts as you will see in the pics, but adding the ADV Nut totally brought me down to a tolerable range. I'm not even sure if the version I have has the PH perfect stuff but this was a nice surprise..this was just to get me by until decided to get up and dance!!

My wife is going to kill me when she see what I did to Her Pier 1 import book stand!! Jessh that wood was tough to drill and cut!! when i woke and saw this i decided it was time to dance (right away this morning) PH was like 10 added the Advanced nutrients Nutes to see what would happen Hmmm not freakin' bad!! from 8.5 or more down to about 6.5 with no pH down added Little Man's root system was a bit under developed... But Fat Man was doing ok Lets see how the take to their new food sourceThis is home for a few weeks. The res is sitting on 2 cm blocks so that I can lower them as LM & FB get taller... i'm really hoping to keep them short but strong . I might add a small fan just to help strengthen the stalks!!

My Illuminator 90W should arrive this week. All hell will break loose then ( I hope) I will update!!

Well Ohh rah devil Dog!!

Guys I'm an overly concerned parent according to my wife. I haven't notince any change in the plants since yesterday when I introduced them to the DWC from the dirt. So i'm wondering. Did putting the girls in the hydro rocks alone damage the roots or the stem maybe got crushed? I was pretty meticulous while placing the hydro rocks in teh pots. Or maybe they are just in shock from going from 2 year old nutes in dirts to fresh adv Nutes in water... At least Little man reoriented towards the closest light. Fatboy is looking (in shock). Leaves are still a bit crumpled. The root system hasn't moved. Maybe I'm expecting miracles, but I'll tell you I sure would have been happy to have seen a nice root system starting.. Maybe it takes more than 24 hours DOH!!!

Doc (me), says give them time to adjust. New environment with nutes they get to regulate more easily and faster than soil.
What are the ppm's of the solution you put them and are you still vegging them ?
This time next week, you'll be hollering, " OOH RAH ! ", from the fast growth.

I didn't buy a PPM meter nor a new pH tester (I have my old pH tester from the soil grow). So i can't tell you the ppm but I know I'm running the nutes hot considering they just came from soil, but I'm trying to adhere strictly to Adv. nut. recommendations. I (of course) snuck a peak at the root system on FatMan and I think your right Flo Grow I should be whistling Dixie by next week with growth. Now i just have to plan on how to keep them under 20 CM before LST'ing (waiting for 5 nodes). I'm impatient as hell, I guess that's why I couldn't wait for that recipe from BB57...
I mean shit I'm already thinking on a Mother's lair for 2 mothers at a time built with the rest of the Pier 1 import book stand that I started massacring already, for the current stage 1 veg unit!!!

Things are starting to take off a bit now. Both have seemed to have adjusted to the new Nute treatment and the roots are coming in fine. They're coming in sbetter on the smaller plant (Littleman) than they are on FatBoy.. But as long as they're lovin life. I'm lovin life....;

Yep thats in the plans but I'm waiting for the 5th node. I'll top these 2 times shich should allow me some time to start another 2 seeds from another strain (which i dont have yet) and the new 2 I'll only top 1 time then scrog them all together. Again thats the plan, but my plans never go according to plan!!!

ILLUMINATOR arrived today. A bit bigger than i anticipated so I'll have to revise my mounting strategy. I've gotta get this bugger mounted!!

Well I've rigged the Illuminator above the plants until I can get their next living quarters situated. They've been 2 weeks in dirt then to DWC, 1 Week or so with DWC and 2x2 15W Floro Glo's. Now after 3 weeks or so they get 90W of targeted LED blasting 7/7 24/24! Let's see if this LED crave is all it's supposed to be, my first grow was with a 400W HiD from veg to flowering. (My first grow Soil/ HiD Early girl strain) Not bad for a then Noob eh?? I even had J.Cervantes MJ bible back then.


This time it'll be "Illuminated" for the duration!!!!
LittleMan about 8 - 9 CM or 3.5 inches
FatBoy (a bit stretched). Both are at about Day 25. Root system is growing nicely.

There was some fungus growing on my hydroton rocks, when I covered them with mylar, but I figured it was from lack of circulating air. So no cover and the Light has fans so I'll see if that remedies the issue.

Umm Somethings happening! And it doesn't look good!!!

I posted in the "plant problems" section, but I'm a pretty impatient fuk so... Help!!

Check the pH. It was too high about 8!! I knocked it down to between 6 & 6.5. Hope this crap on my leaves stops now!!I'm ready to start my next batch of seedlings so i really don't need this morale kill!!

I'm a bad bad parent. The pH was at that point since the beginning about 2 weeks. ANother RUI said maybe its the foil I'm using to cover my top. But i think with a pH of 8 there is really no way to properly troubleshoot. I'll just order the other seeds; Get my mothers keeper LED. And start pumping out some resinous buds. BTW I'm not sure if its the strain "haze" pretty heavy in resin; But these girls are giving off some serious odor already. When they flower I'll surely need a scrubber!! Or i can just invite the cops over since everyone in the neighborhood will probably smell these.

i still have no PPM meter. Since i figured I could just do a replacement / loss kind of grow! If i lose a liter i add a liter! But i'll break the bank and get a ppm meter before i get my mothers keeper led

I'll probably take 2 clones and grow them under the HID to see the difference in yields. That'll be another thread though

Get a good combo meter too, if you can.

Here ye here ye here ye, Lord Pure has prevailed!! It's amazing what a little reading and more importantly taking the advice given can do!!! So the pH adjustment totally 86'd the problem. Thank Goddess Mary Jane because I left for 2 days and if it didn't work well......... I'm sure u all get it!
So here is an update

These were put in soil around the 15th of AUG. Just a "hmm I have seeds so, I'll throw some in some cotton because the grass around here sux!" Wish I was back home in Cali! I threw two fem'd seeds in cotton, threw it on top of my DSL modem inside a Ziploc and my hot breath!
A few days later both popped. Hehehe. I was away so my girl put them in some dirt from another of her plants just as a quick grow medium for the plants! She mixed some of my old ferts from my first & last grow back in '03. They did alright. I had them under x2 15W flora glos for about about 20 days (waiting for them to ship my illuminator) Since the they popped i figured OK my turn to pop.
I ordered the illuminator, and went and got what i needed for my DWC. Illuminator come on the 9th and was focused on the plants since then. All was going fine till last Thursday when 1 leaf on each plant lost all chlorophyll in 1 or 2 blotches. EVERY thing I read on plant problems here in RIU push check pH, check pH. I thought I was in the clear because I'm using Adv. nutrients Sensi products; but I think i got an early version without the "pH Perfect", cause my pH was fucking far from perfect! damn near a perfect 10!! Nah, it was a solid 8.
I adjusted left and came back to this beauties! I'm gonna move them into their 25L homes tomorrow. It'll buy me time to buy my combo meter as one our great RIU's advise me!! Thanks Flo Grow. I'm going to get it next week!

They are pretty short (i think) because i had the LED REALLY close about 5 inches. It's supposed to be min. 12 so I moved it today..

I'm gonna look up the reason for the brown stuff. I think it's simply from the fertilizer in the tank!!?? But they are nice a healthy

i did make another mistake. i didn't put the seeds in rockwool or anything they are just in the pots with the hydro balls. so i guess i need so inserts like Integra21 uses... Or when I scrog them they weight will be supported by the scrog and the pot!!

Sup Folks,

About day 33! I had to leave town for about a week. So i adjusted my PH and left. Everything was fine when I came back the nutes were down to 50% Level and I think this grow is going particularly well especially since I have not tested PPM/EC (no meter) and i haven't added Nutes since the initial switch from soil 22 Days ago. But don't forget my root system was really small even on the 12th as opposed to today. So over the last 6 Days check out the girls. I'm building their screen today, along with their larger DWC. The NEW DWC will allow me to space them farther apart. It seems these ADv Nutrients Nutes are pretty damned good Considering 22 Days of young-ling feeding with no nutrients deficiencies.. Even though I can see some deficiencies starting to develop I think these Nutes Saved me since I had to leave and I've done practically no maintenance for the last 5-6 days. Will post again tonight! I also have to move them further UP in the house since the smell is a bit hard to hide being out open in my basement!! Hehe I love this shit....

Oh yeah another reason I'll be changing today is because the res is finally down 50%, a bit farther than i wanted but... I wasn't here so.; But they are still doing their thing waiting to get scrogged!
