yeah, because nobody's pet dog has every killed anyone.

why are so many dog owners in such denial?

dogs are a liability. just because they have never bitten you doesn't mean they can't, or won't. and if not you than some other random person. but then again, that NEVER happens.

lol why'd you quote what I said FDD, I didn't say anything negative about cats except I wouldn't cop one unless it was a Lynx. I mean check these things out!

i quoted you because of this part, ...

i took it as sarcasm towards dogs being dangerous. ;-)
I figured but not at all, the OP says dogs can sense when people are going to have seizures and such. And if you read closly I mentioned I only fear for my life when i'm 'hopped up on whatever lol'

there is someone in Gen Co. MI that breeds big african cats that are similar to the ones in the vid fdd posted. i wish i could handle having one of those.

sry i know... f cats and the whole nine yards! <-- there ya go! ;-)

on another note an old friend had a nice looking Boxer/Pit mix. It looked like a tiger, but with a dogs head and features.
it actually was a very scary animal period tho, it was a female too.

shall i google up some pitbull attack pics?

you realize the thread title is "fuck cats", don't you? yet you question if I'M on an anti-dog crusade.

classic irony.

my point was: dogs may be great, but they are also a HUGE liability.
Dogs MAY be a liability not are, so may cats.

I don't see the irony, as I think going on slandering people preference in pets is just weird on either side. I was just playing what we call "devils advocate" something I know you are familiar with :)

Animals period can be a liability.

i met a guy in prison doing life for killing a guy that talked shit about his dog. Actually he may have kicked the dog or something too. cant remember. anyway he basically gave his life for a dog.
I love mine but i wouldnt die for them. They are just animals at the end of the day. They eat better than me and get better medical care as well. Over $3k in the last couple years. (getting old)
You do know you're just an animal too right?

It's not a hating thread, I've had more cats than dogs, that's only because they were all strays. My first cat tigger was the only one I actually had an connection with, so not saying all cats are dicks but most just don't listen like dogs do, they don't care discipline wise. This has been an old age debate and just saying dogs will always win it.

Agree with peyote, but as pets they both got ups and downs, less trouble wit cats and they dont bark which is a brucey bonus.
You can train your dog not to bark and the only "trouble" as you put it, I'm guessing is play time and baths? People who say this are usually top busy for a dog or extremely lazy. No matter how tired I am, I always find time to play with my dog and with a cat as they get older theyre more like, fuck off human.

Homeowner's Claims are Going to the Dogs
Dog's aren't just the family pet or your best friend these days...they have become a major source of liability to homeowners

Luckily, most homeowner's policies cover dog bits within personal liability coverage. According to the Insurance Information Institute, in 1996 insurance companies paid more than $1 billion in homeowner's and renter's insurance claims resulting from those canine's canines.

Every year, about 4.5 million people in the United States are bitten by dogs and about 334.000 of them end up in the emergency room, according to a recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Association. It's important that people realize that there are things they can do to reduce the chance their dogs will become aggressive toward other people.

For example, give the dog a "quiet retreat" where it can go to relax undisturbed. A nice doghouse in the back yard will do the trick. Anyplace out of the way, even a crate in a secluded part of the house will work. Once you have that place established, teach your children and others not to bother the dog.

Here are some other helpful hints from Plapp. If you see any children teasing you dog, intervene and take time to explain to them the dangers of their behavior. When the dog is outside, keep it on a leash or behind a fence. Don't encourage roughhousing with the dog, because the animal might not understand what is "too far." Another tip is to teach your dog to be sociable by taking it on a leash near areas where children are playing and making noise. Soothe and per the dog, let him know that this is a normal part of life.

Our final tip: talk to your insurance agent about your homeowner's or renter's coverage. If you own a dog, you should find out whether an attack by your animal would be covered under your policy, and what the limits are.

Dog bites are becoming so frequent that some insurers won't cover pets with a bad temperament or a history of biting. Also, some breeds of dogs like pit bulls or wolf hybrids might not be insurable. Pet owners should take the time to find out more about their coverage.

So your debate is about irresponsible dog owners who can't control and train their dogs? I've had a German Shepard before and she never did anything like that around people, what does that say? I'm a good dog owner is what it says.

Not unless you train them early and be a good dog owner...such as myself.

*Gives smug look* Next.

And shall I Google how many dogs have saved humans compared to cats?

that's about the worst cat attack you'll see. if it were a dog attack the kids whole face would be missing. ;)
Most dogs are gentle around babies and small children, cats are more prone to attack them because they get annoyed easily when the kid pulls on their tail.

Of course they have, they're animals and cats do the same thing but if trained early, they honestly will not bite unless command to do so, look at police dogs. Dogs are not a liability at all when trained well.

In yet...you have absolutely nothing to back that opinion up...
you have to train them to poop outside, for starters.

you have to teach them "NO BARK!", "NO BITE!", "NO JUMP!", "NO PISS ON THE CARPET!", "DOWN!", ...

dogs arrive into this world being dumb. almost everything they do has to be taught to them.

shall in go on? ;)
