Got a dark xmas gift from Bubba yesterday..

DIY fixture made from 6-F-strips, 6-FS strips, 6 Cree CXB2540 and an Arcadia UVB bulb(12%), max. 150w +24w!
150w strip-COB combi&24w Arcadia, 8inch away from the tops.jpg

Bubba's Gift, Humboldt Seeds, grown under ~110-120w LED + 24w Ardcadia D3desert, ~8"/20cm from tops.
No extra far-red in my small 3ft² area but the chinese full spectrum strips should have some far-red with their 1800°k spectrum.

Beautiful, man!

Looks like santa came early.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and everyone else!
Thank you ;)

Very happy with the light and extra reds
I think they'll all finish sooner than expected

I was a little surprised by the stretch,
I thought to keep the plants shorter with the blue in 3500k lm301b, only Cheesetral (exodus cut x pck) remained very compact, I had to raise the pots of 30 / 35cm,
I will do to keep everything at the same level the next run
Need more blue for sativa run^^
I am looking forward to trying UV^^
:weed:

Ps : RiP hps

Build 2 of those, up the wattage to 300 in each and kill a 4X4. Such a great design.

I run deep red and HE Photo red 4 strips pushed on a LPV-60-24. 120 diodes per strip. 60 of each. Alternated as placed on the copper strip. A buddy made them for me. But I run them on by themselves for the first 15 mins then the entire lights on cycle. And then at lights off. The last 15 mins of light. Is the reds only again. They have made trich production go up. Enough to visibly see the difference in the same strain run both times. The reds are run with 10 soon to be 12 Samsung F series gen 3s in 3k. 5 soon to be 6 Lm561c S6 96 diode sunboards in 2700k. And the 4 120 diode red strips.

This pic was before the 2700k were added.

This one has the 2700k installed. And it flowers amazingly.

Thanks, mate! I've used thermal greese in the center and a bit thermal glue on two of the corners. Just enough glue to hold them in place. This way I can remove them later without damaging..
Its the same little 150w light you see in my signature; I've just changed the small 11w CFL against a much more powerful Arcadia bulb. Started UVB treatments btw with 2+2h and increased it slowly to 4+4h. Last 5 days for the whole 12h but with mainlight reduced to ~300μMol/s and ambient temps of 24/14°C day/night. She always gets some purple colors when finished but this time the tops are almost black. Very nice lookin'

Hey, brother!
What does your UVB Run? Everything still okay? Am currently at 18-20" and 3x 20mins Agromax ...still with the spreaders. No more damage till know. Will try to increase the treatments to 3x 40mins for the last 2 weeks.
I've ordered a 0-10v dimmable Philips balast btw.

Beautiful plants, RB! Stackin those frosty nugs really tight, leaves so clean & green. Looks like it's gonna be a great harvest.

What will you use the ballast on?

My new circuits are in, the cuttings are rooting, will be transplanting them when i return home later this week (after 7 days away). And, then i’ll reset my growspace and get started training them for the smackdown, hope to be flipping by end of January.

Thanks, mate! They still get molasses, kelp extract and 5ml calmag every 2nd watering but I've added the first 2,5ml PK last watering. Its time to add some more phosphor...:weed:

The ballast mentioned above is a Philips HF-Regulator 224TL5 220-240. Its a 0/1-10v dimmable ballast for two T5 bulbs, 1-100% dimming range. You can get them for one bulb in this case its called HF-R 124TL5 220-240 and you can get them for up to 4 parallel bulbs(HF-R 424TL5....). The newer versions are multiwatt ballasts and called 114-35TL5 220-240 and -big surprise- its for 14-35w T5HO bulbs. Dimming would make the hardening process so much easier and I could use them without spreader/with less distance.
Osram has also 0-10v dimmable ballasts like Philips and before you ask, they are also available for 54w T5's. Osrams are Dali & 0-10v dimmable and are even more costly. I found my 2 bulb ballast for 15euros on am4zon; regulary they cost ~48€.
I don't know for sure but I could imagine the 54w one is called HF-Regulator 154TL5 220-240 but its a guess.

I know a lot of people are a bit apprehensive running 730nm on a separate timer - I myself have been burned by the 730nm timer getting off and coming on at the wrong time due to power outages, etc... So, after seeing the HLG solution I got to thinking. I"m pretty sure you could use a dusk/dawn photocell switch (made for outdoor lighting) and a cheap cycle timer to take care of it. I have a cycle timer that runs on 12V DC, I bought a $3 photocell sensor that is made for DC up to 10A. My cheapo 10W 730nm "cob" also takes 12V to run. So, I can use a cheap 12V ac/dc brick to both power the cycle timer and run my 730nm. The sensor allows power to flow to the cycle timer when lights go out, cycle timer is set to come on by default and then stay on for X seconds then turn off. The light sensor then cuts power to the whole circuit when lights come back on.... I ordered the sensor, I have all the rest of it... I'm going to test it when the sensor arrives and report back.

Sounds good! One would only need to set the amount of seconds and the rest works automaticly.
I've a few Sonoff timers to run far-red, UV and LED's and they hold their settings even with power off but this not means they are fail safe. One time last year there was a server update and in the moment it goes back online all my settings were gone. God thanks, the plants were still in the vegetative stage so it was'nt an issue.

I had the samething happen to me. Lost all of my settings. We use them in our home too.... run the dish washer and washing machine at everything before you leave for work.in the morning. Come.home clothes washed throw em in the dryer. Dishes washed put em away. kinda.nice. dark in the house carrying groceries in. Lord knows.what my.kids left in the middle.of.floor. well before I get out the car. Pull my phone out
Hit a button all my lights come on.

Plus use Alexa with them for our kids lights and a couple of his games we built a pinball game into his wall. In his room. That Alexa starts when you say it. It's kinda cool.

Lol! That's kinda cool!
I also have a few more Sonoffs for my other lights and to switch off my TV at night and a TH for monitoring temps and humidity. But I don't use alexa. Currently I try to build a little 24v humidifier based on an ultrasonic mister for the TH.

This mix 4k H inFlux_L06 nd F562b 3k n 4k strips are putting down the frost in widowland. Winter has started.....

I dont think I need to add my far reds???? What do you guys think?

Nice! Frost looks already amazing. I would use it for EoD treatment to shortening the flower cycle but its a bit late. I'm using far-red the whole day as soon as the stretch is almost done but only 20μMol/s above a 2x4' area. There is a pdf about benefits of far-red I've posted a few pages back. They have used up to 90μMol/s/m² with different plants and found out it has some beneficial effects on photosynthesis system I+II and also on leaf temps. A + in photosynthesis of only 2-3% means it has also a shortening effect on the flowering cycle.
So from my POV, if you have it - use it!
If it has also an effect on "frostiness" it's even better to use it!
But I've not recognized an effect on frost when using far-red. Purple, UVA and of course UVB wavelengths helps to get more frost. Also a lot of blue in the last weeks is helpful and cooler ambient temps also have an impact. Greenhouse recommend to finish their Supersilverhaze with 22°C ambient temps to get the best potency.(video on their website)

Nice tops!

Doubt far reds will signif affect frostyness, but if you have enuff deepred going, far red for full lights on could boost photosynthesis and add some additional weight, fatness; and running fr for 5-15mins after lights out could perhaps speed up harvest a few days....

I had my issue while using sonoffs , BUT, i was using the loop timer because I was running sub-24hr day cycle so it's easier for things to get screwed up vs. a straight scheduled timer.

I'm down to 1 standard timer, my android with hack job programming is more reliable. All I want is a good timer, any recommendations?
